The Senate passed the bill by an 86-11 vote in August.So, what does the bill propose, and how could it affect India?WHAT IS RUSSIA SANCTIONS BILL?The legislation seeks to increase economic pressure on Russia over its war against Ukraine. It includes sanctions targeting Russian officials, financial institutions, the energy sector and vessels involved in sanctions evasion, including the so-called “shadow fleet”.
