Santos came on as a second-half substitute on 64 minutes when he replaced Ivan Romero during a 3-0 loss at Espanyol. The left-back made his senior debut at the tender age of 15 years and 288 days to become the youngest player in his club’s history. The Spain Under-16 international beat Yamal‘s record by a mere two days. In fact, Santos became the joint-third youngest player to ever debut in LaLiga. The defender shares that record with Pedro Irastorza, who made his bow in Spain’s top flight for Donostia at the exact same age back in 1933. The record still belongs to Luka Romero, who debuted for Mallorca during the 2019/20 season at 15 years and 219 days.
