SEPTEMBER 2, 2026 07:13Updated: SEPTEMBER 2, 2026 08:56The IDF struck Hezbollah infrastructure near Nabatiya, southern Lebanon, on Wednesday, after terrorists launched two explosive drones towards soldiers operating in the Ali al-Taher Ridge, the military said. The IDF opened fire, downing one of the drones, it noted. No IDF soldiers were injured in the drone attacks, the military confirmed. This follows reports from Hezbollah-run Al Manar TV claiming that the IDF struck Rumman, a village in southern Lebanon, earlier on Wednesday. The strikes also followed the activation of sirens in some areas of northern Israel early on Wednesday morning as the IDF launched interceptors towards what it suspected at the time to be a drone that crossed from Lebanon into Israel.Later, the military announced that the interceptors had likely been launched towards a "false target."No casualties were reported, and the military added that it is currently examining the results of the interception. This is a developing story.
