Hyatt’s New Promotion Offers Up To 36,000 Bonus Points—Free Nights Count, But You Must Register

Hyatt will give you 3,000 bonus points for every three eligible nights this fall, even when you’re redeeming points or a free night certificate for the room. The new promotion tops out at 36,000 bonus points, and registration is open for nights September 29 through December 15, 2026. This is an improvement over Hyatt’s summer offer, which made your entire first stay ineligible and capped earning at just 8,000 bonus points. I’ve long detested that restriction. Getting someone to try Hyatt once is good! This time your first stay counts, although you still need three nights in total to earn a bonus. Here are the details: Register by December 15, before your stay. Reservations you’ve already made qualify. Nights accumulate across stays and hotels. Three one-night visits work just as well as one three-night stay. Eligible paid nights and free night awards count. You don’t need a Hyatt credit card. Participating Hyatt properties worldwide qualify, along with participating Mr & Mrs Smith hotels, The Venetian Resort, and Homes & Hideaways as long as the partner stays are booked through Hyatt channels. Only the room you occupy counts, even if you’re paying for several rooms. The 36,000-point cap takes 36 qualifying nights. Bonuses should post within two to three weeks after checkout and can stack with other offers unless those offers prohibit it. I value Hyatt points at about 1.4 cents apiece though should potentially revisit that. To me each 3,000-point bonus is worth roughly $42. That’s an extra $14 per night when your total divides evenly by three, up to the cap. On award stays, this effectively rebates part of what you spent. Three nights costing 5,000 points each would mean spending 15,000 points and getting 3,000 back, for a net cost of 12,000 points. The basic earning rate is the same as Hyatt’s promotion earlier this year, with a higher cap but without that offer’s extra bonus at Hyatt Place and Hyatt Select. In fact, I was writing about 3,000 points every three nights back in 2013. They’ve had plenty of time to come up with something more exciting. And 3,000 points doesn’t go as far as it did back then. Still, register now, even if you don’t expect to stay. An unexpected booking is exactly when you’re least likely to remember the promotion. The offer could influence where I book a night I already need if I’ve accumulated two qualifying nights and wouldn’t otherwise reach three.
