TWO boys, aged 12 and 15, have been arrested after a huge fire tore through a disused Indian restaurant. Emergency services were scrambled to the empty Thaal restaurant in Brotherton, North Yorkshire, late last night after receiving reports of a fire. They both remain in police custody at this time with North Yorkshire Police saying officers have not ruled out further arrests. There are currently no reports of any injuries as a result of the blaze with a full search of the building due to be carried out when possible. Pictures from the scene last night show huge pillars of smoke burning through the roof of the building. Plumes of black smoke can be seen pouring from the roof as firefighters battle desperately to bring the blaze under control. The entire roof of the building appears to have been burned away by the intense heat of the flames. Most read in The Sun It is believed to have caused significant damage to the abandoned property. North Yorkshire Police said: “Officers have warned that deliberately setting fires is a serious criminal offence that puts lives at risk and can cause devastating damage to homes, businesses, vehicles and the environment. “Even a small fire can quickly spread, placing firefighters, emergency workers and members of the public in danger. “Anyone with information about last night’s fire should call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and pass information from incident number 12260185851.”
