Howard Stern Show segment CANCELED after shock jock’s mass layoffs and major changes

THE HOWARD Stern Show has quietly canceled a beloved segment after mass layoffs and major changes. Sign up for the Showbiz newsletter Thank you! “One of the greatest fantasy football leagues, the world’s most famous fantasy football leagues while I was in it. “I took that thing from the bottom to the top, made it a viral sensation that people ask me about every single day.” He complained that he never had a chance to win the league, despite serving as commissioner for the past four years. “It has come to an end…and obviously, there has been so much talk about the Stern Show, it’s going to one day a week, and the HBO of it all,” he continued. “That’s not my place, nor do I have any information as to how that’s playing out, why that’s playing out, what that’s going to look like. “But I must admit publicly, that the Stern Show Fantasy Football League is now defunct…They just can’t do it anymore.” Most read in Entertainment Rapaport attended Jeff Ross: Take A Banana For The Ride Broadway Opening Night at Nederlander Theatre on August 18, 2025 in New York Credit: Getty Stern debuted his show on SiriusXM on January 9, 2006 in New York Credit: Getty Rapaport had multiple feuds with Stern Show regulars, including JD Harmeyer and Gary Dell’Abante, over drama in the league each year. The league, also called the Emotional Friends League, had been going on since at least 2008. Stern Show fans expressed their disappointment over the news on Reddit. “Their league was really entertaining,” one fan said. “There’s probably not enough people left who actually play in it,” one listener guessed, referring to the Stern Show’s recent rounds of layoffs. As The U.S. Sun reported, at least 50 Stern Show staffers were let go after two rounds of layoffs in 2026. On-air talent including Benjy Bronk, Memet Walker and Jon Blitt were among the casualties, and many, many more behind-the-scenes employees were also fired. Staffers are now fighting for better severance packages, The U.S. Sun exclusively reported. With just a fraction of staff left, The Stern Show will now only air one day a week on SiriusXM, with a new video-based version of the show airing on HBO Max each Thursday. Stern’s archival channel, Howard 101, was also dropped entirely, and taken over by Andy Cohen. Stern, 72, will officially return to air on September 14 after the long summer break, and even more bombshells are expected to drop. Comment now
