Some of the games George has extensively covered first-hand include Dead Rising, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and Ninja Gaiden 4. When you first start out in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, Rose will be plenty nimble and have a decent range of movement options, including dodge rolling, mantling, backstepping, and more. Of course, it wouldn't be a Castlevania game without you eventually running into areas you'll need new abilities to traverse. There are five for you to unlock, and here's how you can get each one and what they do. Arcane Whip The very first and arguably most important ability you'll get in Belmont's Curse is the Arcane Whip, which can be used to swing across gaps, zip to hooks, and unleash a powerful whip attack on enemies. To unlock it, you'll need to defeat the game's first boss, The Fallen. You can't miss him, since he's a main part of the story and encountered early on during a more linear section. Holy Light One of the more unique abilities in Belmont's Curse, Holy Light lets you shine a light that dispels rocky platforms and can even counter attacks if you time it right. It's unlocked early on in the game after you defeat The Warrior, which you can do by reaching the top of the Prison Tower in Paris Streets. Shortly after, you'll be given access to Holy Light. Smash The next movement ability you can unlock in Belmont's Curse is the aptly titled Smash, which lets Rose break glowing yellow blocks by jumping and smashing down into them. Smash is unlocked by defeating The Builder, who can be found in the lower section of the Clock Tower, called the Throne of the Builder. To reach this area, head to the Eastern Access Shaft at the top of the Clock Tower. To get past the yellow block on the floor, you'll need to move the platforms above you to create a path for a giant fist to smash it open. Going through the newly created hole will lead you to an elevator that takes you to The Builder's boss fight. The Builder is one of the tougher skill checks in Belmont's Curse, so be prepared for a struggle before you can get to Smash. Aerial Rush Aerial Rush is one of the best movement abilities in Belmont's Curse, as it gives Rose access to a mid-air dash that can be used to get through tight gaps and generally move around faster. To unlock it, you'll need to defeat The Occultist, who can be found at the very top of the Library in the Observatory. To reach the Observatory, you'll need to make your way through the Planetarium in the Library, which involves figuring out the specific star pattern for each globe to reach new areas. Once you've activated all of the globes, a path leading up to the Observatory and the boss fight with Carmilla will be unlocked. Double Jump We've finally reached the one I know you've all been waiting for, which is unsurprisingly the last movement ability you'll unlock in Belmont's Curse. As the name suggests, it unlocks a second jump for Rose that can be used to reach higher platforms and get around the world a lot easier. To unlock it, you'll need to defeat Death, who is found in Notre Dame's Choir room. To first unlock Notre Dame, you'll have to complete The Artist Tarot card (which requires Smash) and defeat The Occultist to get Brauner's Paintbrush. After that, go to the Gallery of Eternal Night in the Main Hall, equip the Masterpiece Arcana, and inspect the painting to unlock the new area. This will lead you into Notre Dame and start the path towards Death, which requires finding musical patterns to use on the Giant Organ in the Great Organ Room to clear the pipes of Death's magic and access his boss room. Once you've taken him down, you'll unlock the Double Jump and complete Rose's moveset.
