How To Solve The Scales Puzzle At The Clinic In Silent Hill: Townfall

Published Sep 24, 2026, 5:20 AM EDT Although Kaitlyn grew up with a passion for both video games and writing, she never imagined she'd eventually combine them into a career. Now, with several years of experience in the industry across Guides, Features, News, & Reviews, Kaitlyn enjoys nothing more than continuing to deep dive into the games she's passionate about and share her findings with readers. In her downtime, Kaitlyn enjoys unwinding with her favorite horror films, despite being a major scaredy-cat. Once you've opened the Organ Transplant box at Zoe's house and retrieved her badge, it will be time for Simon to make his way towards Silent Hill: Townfall's clinic. Zoe's bag will open the previously locked door, allowing entry, where you'll be free to explore behind the safety of a locked front door. At the back of the clinic, you'll find Zoe's office, with a ton of boxes, a computer, and three precariously placed scales. Next to the scales will be a note, which, yes, indicates this is another puzzle you'll need to solve to progress. The scales are actually a larger puzzle with several smaller puzzles required to find the two other items you're missing, but at least you already have one item, the badge. The first step towards solving this puzzle is to gather as much information as you can. The note next to the scales is the primary document that indicates what to place on each scale. The upper half is more for story purposes, but the lines you need to pay attention to are underlined and read as follows: "I didn't listen closely enough." "I made mistakes and couldn't focus on the tasks at hand." "I'm not fit to work in this role any longer." There's also a line underlined at the bottom, but it just tells you to show you understand by placing the correct items where they go. Based on the information in the note, you need something that represents listening, mistakes, and Zoe's job. The last item on this list, thankfully, is already in your inventory. For the last scale, you'll need to place Zoe's badge that you found in her house and used to get inside the clinic. As for the other two items, you'll need to head to other locations in St. Amelia to retrieve what's needed. If you haven't already, check the computer in the room to view Zoe's emails. There will be one from Jessica indicating that she found Zoe's medical kit and she's worried about her. It won't explicitly hint at the listening item, but the address indicates you need to head here. Make sure you also grab the Scalpel in the medical kit on the same desk as Zoe's computer. You'll need it to reach the other areas where the other two items are. After you read through the emails, head back up to the front and use the code on the sticky note at the computer to open the door there. Inside, you'll find a phone, where you can check the message mentioned in one of the emails. Listen to the message, and you'll find out that a messed-up prescription is waiting at the pharmacy. Naturally, that is the item you'll need for the mistake scale. At this point, you should have two new locations marked on your map: the Pharmacy in the bottom right corner and Jessica's house, which will lead you to the northern half of the map for the first time. You'll need the aforementioned Scalpel to reach both. How To Open The Locker At The Pharmacy When you make it to the pharmacy, you'll find that there's a locker in the back of the building with a 4-digit combination lock. To open it, turn around and interact with the device on the table that will unlock a new signal on the CRTV. This new signal will contain the clues you need to open it. It's quick, but it refers to the posters in the pharmacy. Each one has something on it to indicate a numerical value, whether the number is plainly printed on it or something to count. View each one, taking note of its numerical value, and enter those numbers in the order that you see the posters appear in the video. It should be in the order of Hand Wash Poster, Safe Medicine Steps Poster, Blood Pressure Poster, and Antibiotics Poster. If you'd just like the answer, you can expand this window to view an image with the correct solution below. Once you have opened the locker and retrieved the prescription bag, you can take it back to the Clinic or head straight to Jessica's house. How To Get Inside Jess's House And Find A Listening Item As you can see marked on your map, Jess' house is in an area you've not explored up to this point. To reach it, you'll need to use the scalpel on the northern doorway in St. Amelia's town square. Once you're through, make your way north through St. Amelia Park, then take the diagonal path to the left that leads to the upper left corner of the map. This will help you reach Farrow Street, and you'll also be directly near a phone booth on the street, which I recommend saving with. After saving, make your way down the street towards Jess, but stay between cars and buildings, not just open in the middle of the street, because there will be an enemy making the rounds up and down this street. As you can probably guess, the front door, on Farrow Street near Farrow Street Parking, is locked. Instead, you'll need to take a path to the back door. To do this, cut through the small area next to Building marker 14 on your map. There will be a gate in this alleyway, but it's locked from this side. So, you'll need to make your way down the path and loop around, but be careful; there's another enemy here as well. Carefully make your way to the back door, where you'll unfortunately find a note that Jess has left her keys with a neighbor. So quickly make your way down the stairs and hide behind the cars in Jess's backyard. You can unlock the previously locked gate, making it easier to return to this area later. Exit through the now open gate and make your way back to Farrow Street. Unfortunately, Jess will give you an address, but it won't be marked on the map. House 16, the house you're looking for, is directly across the street from her front door, next to Farrow Street Parking. Head inside that building, carefully avoiding the enemy on the street, and lock the door behind you. Only one of these apartments has the key for Jess's backdoor, but you can enter and loot a few other areas in this building before you go. Once you have Jess's backdoor key, head back to her backdoor and go inside. The keys are specifically for the backdoor, so don't think you can run across the street and unlock the front door. That door can be opened when exiting the house later, but only from the inside. Jess's backdoor doesn't lock from the inside, so don't have enemies chase you up here, or they'll come right in through the door. Inside Jess's home, you'll find several things to interact with and collect, but the main item you're looking for is a broken stethoscope sitting on Jess's bed. Make sure you grab this before you leave, as it is necessary for completing the scales puzzle. When you have it and are done searching the home, head out through the front door. To leave this area and get back to the clinic, you'll need to take the route that goes directly south from Farrow Street Parking and through St. Amelia Park. There will be a few enemies in your way, so be careful as you make your way to the gate you need to open. Being entirely honest, I just made a run for it. If you're confident you can make it all the way to the clinic and shut and lock the door before they catch you, go for it. What Items Are Needed For The Scales At The Clinic At this point, you should have everything you need to complete the scales puzzle at the clinic. Make your way to the back of the clinic and interact with the scales to place your items. The order should be, from left to right, stethoscope, prescription, badge. If everything has been placed correctly, the scales will begin to lower, and you'll watch a cutscene, which will kick off Part 2, Zoe's first playable section of the game.
