‘How to Find Love in the Cereal Aisle’ Author Alissa DeRogatis Brought Us Behind the Scenes on Her Book Tour

Alissa DeRogatisTour kicked off a few days before release and I got the pleasure of starting it at Kiss and Tale in Decatur, GA. Somehow we got on the topic of boy bands and I may or may not have admitted that I used to write Jonas Brothers fan fiction in middle school. Everyone starts somewhere, right?Jeremy HarrisBookishly Ever After hosted me at Forevermore Coffee (always love a Taylor Swift reference) in Nashville, TN, and it was dreamy. From the highly encouraged pink and orange dress code to a build-your-own bouquet bar, truly no detail was spared. My favorite part had to be ending the night with Cannoli Cowboy. Someone write this man into a rom-com ASAP!Advertisement - Continue Reading BelowAlissa DeRogatisFirst time in Knoxville, TN, and I’ll definitely be back. Good Girl Books is drenched in pink (my favorite color) and is dog-friendly. What more could you ask for?Alissa DeRogatisTo celebrate the release, I went back home to Charlotte, NC, where Trope Bookshop went all out! They put together an entire cereal bar (pictured here) while the bartenders at Lost Plost crafted up three custom cereal cocktails. My favorite was The Slow Burn, which tasted exactly like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.Advertisement - Continue Reading BelowAlissa DeRogatisThen it was off to Boston, MA, where I got to wear my favorite outfit of tour—a custom beaded cereal bowl tank top from The Beaded Tee (@thebeadedtee on Instagram). I fell in love with Lovestruck Books & Cafe (no pun intended) and can’t wait to pop back in the next time I’m in Boston!Alissa DeRogatisThe city that far exceeded my expectations though was Minneapolis, MN. Tropes & Trifles has built such an amazing community in the romance space—everyone was high energy, so kind, and we were laughing all night long. Also shout out to Peyton Corinne for the best round of This or That: Trope edition. Who knew “roommates” would wind up taking the crown?Advertisement - Continue Reading BelowAlissa DeRogatisEvery stop on the tour was special in their own way but Spring Lake, NJ, holds a particularly special place in my heart, as well as Thunder Road Books, because I grew up at the Jersey shore. I dedicated How to Find Love in the Cereal Aisle to my grandparents, who have been married for sixty years. It was such a full-circle moment seeing my grandma sit in the very front row. And look how cute she is in her orange!Kara Sabbagh @bookishventuresAdvertisement - Continue Reading BelowAlissa DeRogatisThe very last stop was at Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh, NC, where, coincidentally, Ainsley Green (the FMC in How to Find Love in the Cereal Aisle) kicked off her very own book tour. It was fun to celebrate this story in the place where it started. Of course, I had to bring my dog Oliver along, and he absolutely loved the spotlight. Winston, Ainsley’s dachshund, would probably be very jealous.
