As you make your way through Phantom Blade Zero's vast, expansive world, you'll come across areas that are locked unless you have a specific Phantom Edge. Giant gaps are untraversable unless you have the Hunter's Chain Sickle, bags remain up in trees until you get the Feather Bow repaired, and brambles block pathways until you get your hands on the Flaming Mane. To get it, you'll have to jump through a few hurdles, including beating one of the game's most iconic bosses. This guide will tell you where to find them. How To Find The Flaming Mane Phantom Edge Getting the Flaming Mane is one of the best experiences in Pangzhen, and probably Phantom Blade Zero as a whole. It requires working your way through the whole winding city before coming to one of the game's most exciting bosses, Flame, Lion Dance Grandmaster. How To Beat Flame, Lion Dance Grandmaster This fight is the epitome of cool, as you fight a fire-breathing lion dancer straight out of traditional Chinese folklore. As with many bosses in the game, Flame, Lion Dance Grandmaster has two distinct phases, and you'll need different tactics for both. There is a Phantom Edge hidden in Pangzhen called You Loong's Deluge. Getting this Phantom Edge not only aids exploration, but also makes the boss fight against Flame, Lion Dance Grandmaster much easier. The first phase is more traditional. You'll want to stay close to Flame, Lion Dance Grandmaster, dodging and parrying its attacks with perfect timing, while avoiding the fire it spews around the field. If you have You Loong's Deluge, you'll be able to inflict the Wet status ailment to Flame, Lion Dance Grandmaster, and his fire attacks will be mitigated. The second phase, Flame, Lion Dance Grandmaster, sheds his companion and much of his outfit. This part of the fight is about crowd control and playing into the gimmick. He summons mini disciples, and you'll need a little crowd control to take them down. Soul then grabs one of their fire-breathing masks, hops onto some pillars, and you and Flame go head-to-head, blasting fireballs at each other. Win this battle, and you'll earn the real treasure: The Flaming Mane. What Is The Flaming Mane? Much like You Loong's Deluge, the Flaming Mane Phantom Edge is useful for a variety of reasons. It's fun, but slightly limited in battle, and more importantly, it can clear areas blocked off by thorns, which you've encountered many of already. Head back to those areas with the Flame Mane in tow, and loot the treasure you find.
