How Man Utd star Harry Maguire fell victim to hilarious Jamie Vardy prank on first England call-up

JAMIE VARDY hilariously pranked Harry Maguire on his first England call-up. The Manchester United centre-back earned his first England selection in 2017, soon after joining Leicester City. Unfortunately for Maguire, the cunning striker sniffed an opportunity to drop his mate in it. Sign up for the Man United newsletter Thank you! So Vardy told the defender to bring a whole load of stuff to the camp at St George’s Park – and carry it all in bin liners. Lo and behold, Maguire followed his instructions to the letter. And the video of him rocking up in his Leicester training kit with two massive black bin bags full of stuff went viral. Now Vardy has lifted the lid on what really happened. Speaking on his Jamie Vardy’s Having A Party podcast, he said: “I can’t even remember properly what I said, which makes it worse. “But he was asking me what he needed. But Maguire even got a ticking off from his mum after the clip did the rounds. He said: “I got called up for England and asked Jamie Vardy what you were supposed to turn up in. “He told me to take my boots in a black bin bag, so I did. I still don’t know if he was having me on. It was a good one if he was… “I’ve seen that on Twitter with the bags — it was just full of boots and shin pads and dirty stuff, which I’ll give the kit man. “I’ll try and get some in future. “My mum mentioned it. She gave me a text later on saying, ‘What’s with the bags?’ It was just a bit of fun.” Comment now
