FOUR workers have been killed in a horror crash with a luxury train. The men had been weeding the tracks near Shin-Kanuma Station in Japan when a Spacia X express train hurtled towards them. The victims have not yet been identified but are reportedly men in their 50s and 60s. Railway rules in Japan dictate that the group should have had three men posted as lookouts for trains. The lookout raises a flag to warn the train driver of workers on the tracks – and the conductor then sounds a horn to alert the workers. The four victims were part of a ten man crew for Tobu Railway Co. Tobu Railway insisted that the correct warning procedures were followed before the collision. Most read in The Sun “We do not know why the accident occurred,” a company official said. They added that they deeply regretted the incident and would launch an investigation into the tragedy. No passengers were killed in the nightmare crash. The Spacia X train features an exclusive cockpit suite with panoramic views as well as cafes and private compartments.
