I don’t want you to put my mother in prison, I defended my mum.” Police arrived at the scene to find a woman lying on the street as hero bystanders tried desperately to save her life. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene around 5.17am suffering severe blood loss. She told cops that she had had a row with her sister, who had been staying over, about hair straightening before “the argument escalated” according to a police source. Then her seven-year-old son allegedly grabbed a knife hidden in the bathroom and stabbed his aunt in the throat. The mum said her sister exclaimed: “Your son stabbed me.” She then ran into the street, shouting “help me”, witnesses said, before collapsing and later dying of her injuries. The young boy and his mother were taken to hospital. A police source said the boy’s dad arrived at the scene and reassured him. He reportedly told the child: “You wanted to defend your mother, it’s okay, you did the right thing, it was an accident.” The prosecutor’s office told Franceinfo there would be “no communication before the beginning of next week, in order to protect the investigation“. Local media reported that the mum was taken into custody and the child is set to be questioned. Comment now
