The worker had been feeding the beast inside an enclosure at Adventure Park in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, when he was attacked on Saturday afternoon. The crocodile clamped its jaw down on his legs before rolling the man in a 'death roll', as terrified bystanders watched on in horror.Another worker could be seen inside the enclosure trying to come to the man's aid, as the man tried to club the croc on the head.A bystander also tried to help by extending a pole through the fence of the enclosure.A man who was among the crowd when the attack unfolded said the croc ended up holding onto him for about an hour.'Many of us witnessed the incident, but unfortunately, there was very little we could do to help. Our only option was to call the police for assistance,' Koibuga Remdi said.'When the police arrived, Adventure Park employees began pumping water out of the pond to make the rescue easier. Horrifying footage captured the moment a crocodile sank its teeth into a worker at a wildlife park in Papua New Guinea on Saturday The croc then flipped the man in a 'death roll' - a maneuver used by crocodiles to dismember their prey Months before the attack, a worker could be seen sat on the back of a giant crocodile 'Some workers said the crocodile had been living there since before Papua New Guinea's independence and had never attacked the people who fed and cared for it. Sadly, today it unexpectedly turned on its caretaker.'Mr Remdi said the crocodile was 'extremely difficult' to stop, with the man losing a significant amount of blood.'It did not die from the first shot. Police had to fire multiple rounds, and it was only after the eleventh shot that the crocodile finally died,' he said. After the beast was killed, the man was rescued and rushed to 3 Mile General Hospital for treatment. He died from his injuries on Sunday morning. It comes as heartbreaking details emerged about what the worker was doing in his final moments.'He brought the chicken to the fence and the crocodile attacked the person and tried to bring him into the pool,' park visitor Gibson John told the ABC.'He was in severe pain but he couldn't scream.'Mr John revealed one of the final phrases the wildlife worker spoke: 'He couldn't speak properly at that time. It was the pain I could see from his eyes. Another worker could also be seen splashing the predator just centimeters from its jaws One of the workers was filmed resting his foot on the back of a large crocodile at the wildlife park'The only thing I could hear him say was, "I haven't done anything wrong".'It's understood the handler had been working at the park for around two years. The attack comes months after video emerged on social media that showed the staff getting unsettlingly close with the crocodiles. In the stomach-clenching videos, one worker was seen splashing water at a predator just centimetres away from its face, before sitting on its back and tugging at its neck. The man could then be seen standing with one foot on its back as he gave a feeding demonstration to onlookers. In another video, a worker was seen touching a giant croc on its nose while standing directly in front of its jaws. The Port Moresby Adventure Park remains closed until further notice.
