Hopefully soon: Emraan Hashmi drops big hint on Awarapan 3

Actor Emraan Hashmi has hinted at the possibility of Awarapan 3 while celebrating the strong response to Awarapan 2 with fans. The actor surprised moviegoers at a Mumbai screening alongside his co-star Disha Patani, where he teased that the next instalment could arrive “very soon.”Awarapan 2 released in theatres on Friday and opened to a strong response from audiences. The sequel to Hashmi’s 2007 cult classic had also recorded impressive advance bookings ahead of its release, while its Day 1 occupancy reflected the buzz surrounding the film.Emraan and Disha visited a Mumbai theatre during the interval of Awarapan 2, where they interacted with fans and spoke about the response to the film.Addressing the audience, Emraan said, “This is a film which belongs to fans more than the makers isiliye hum wapis aaye abhi, is journey ko humne aur thrilling banaya with more action and more emotions. Friday ko bas humare haath se nikal gayi aur aapke hawale (This is a film that belongs to the fans more than the makers, which is why we have returned. We have made this journey even more thrilling with more action and emotions. On Friday, the film will be out of our hands and in yours).” When an excited fan predicted that the film would become a super-hit, Emraan responded, “Movie baaki hai, second half better hai (The movie is not over yet; the second half is better).”The actor then sent the crowd into further excitement by hinting at a potential third instalment. “Umeed yahi hai ki aapko puri film pasand aayegi. Hopefully, Awarapan 3 very soon (We hope you enjoy the entire film, and hopefully),” he said. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films, Awarapan 2 picks up the story of Shivam Pandit, played once again by Emraan Hashmi. Having survived the events of the first film, Shivam is now leading a quiet life when an Interpol officer approaches him for help, pulling him into a dangerous mission to rescue abducted children.The action thriller explores themes of child trafficking, revenge and redemption. Disha Patani stars as Zara, while Shabana Azmi plays gangster queen Nafisa.
