Magic: The Gathering - MagicCon Atlanta 2026 Festival In A Box Contents Revealed Published Oct 5, 2026, 2:34 PM EDT Niall (pronounced Ny-ul) is a UK-based writer who has been writing about Magic: The Gathering throughout his entire career, with everything from new set breakdowns and individual deck guides to offering his opinions on the state of formats and the general direction of the iconic TCG. Niall also has a rich history covering triple-A releases, sports games, and PC hardware. The final Magic: The Gathering con of the year is right around the corner as MagicCon Atlanta closes out a busy year for the popular convention, with 2027 set to bring us four more events, including first-time visits to Detroit and Tokyo. As is customary, a Festival in a Box product will be launched to celebrate the event. First, it will drop via Secret Lair for those who want to get it ASAP or who aren't attending the event. The box will also be sold in limited quantities across all three days of MagicCon at the event itself. MagicCon Atlanta 2026 Festival In A Box Release Date & Price The MagicCon Atlanta Festival in a Box will launch via Secret Lair on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 9 am PT and will run like any other Secret Lair drop. There is, however, a purchase limit of two boxes per customer. As for price, the MagicCon Atlanta Festival in a Box costs $249.99, a $50 price increase over the MagicCon Amsterdam offering. This price increase is a little unexpected, but given the contents swaps out the popular Mystery Booster 2 for the brand-new Mystery Booster Commander Edition, we can see why the decision has been made to increase the price. What Comes In The MagicCon Atlanta 2026 Festival In A Box? The contents of the MagicCon Atlanta Festival in a Box is split into three focuses. First up is an entire Mystery Booster Commander Edition box. This new Mystery Booster product was announced back at MagicCon Amsterdam, and is only sold during special occasions, which is typically MagicCon events and in Festival in a Box products. The product was used for a special debut draft event during GenCon earlier this year, but this marks the first time members of the public have had the chance to purchase it. Each Mystery Booster Commander box comes with 24 packs of cards, with each pack containing 20 cards. Within a pack, you get the following: Three common or uncommon cards for each color of the mana pie One wildcard reprint One rare or mythic reprinted Commander One foil or nonfoil new-to-magic Commander One common or uncommon Future Sight frame card One rare or mythic rare Future Sight frame card One foil acorn stamp card One playtest card Next up in your Festival in a Box is a Secret Gallery drop. This contains four cards with Secret Lair-style designs, which can only be found at the event or in this Festival in a Box. It only contains four cards, but each one is designed by an artist from Atlanta. The cards in the Secret Gallery drop are: Parallax Tide Regrowth Viridian Revel Assassin's Trophy Parallax Tide is the most expensive card in the drop (when taking all at the cheapest price), but previous Secret Lair copies of Assassin's Trophy can be pretty pricey. In general, it's a low-value drop that's more about celebrating the event than trying to find some kind of additional value. Finally, you also get four promo cards in the MagicCon Atlanta Festival in a Box product. Three of these are full art, no text adaptations of cards which are legal in any format that the named card is still legal in, while one is a playtest card and banned from all formats unless given Rule Zero approval or in a specific event where their legality is stated. The promo cards are: Dance of the Dead Tana, the Bloodsower Tymna the Weaver Auspicious Aquarium (playtest) Most of the value in this box is going to come from the Mystery Booster Commander Edition product. Sadly, scalpers will be all over this drop as they are all over Festival in a Box products, so be sure to get ready for a busy morning if you're going to take a chance. Also, make sure your Wizards account is up-to-date, and your payment method is ready to go should you get through, as getting through to the Secret Lair website doesn't guarantee your stock until you've completed your check-out.
