HBO's Missing House Of The Dragon Villain Sets Up A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Season 2

There's a major missing character in House of the Dragon who, if he appears in season 4, would also set up a critical character for the next installments of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. House of the Dragon has had the unenviable task of shaping George R. R. Martin's Fire & Blood into an HBO series. As Fire & Blood is written like a historical text, there are gaps in the story, and one historian's account of events can be explicitly different than another's. It makes for an unusual read, and it also gives Ryan Condal and his team a lot of leeway to make changes to the story in service of a more cohesive television experience. It's resulted in some characters being aged up or down, some being combined, and some being excised. With only one more season of House of the Dragon, there's a limited amount of time to introduce some critical characters to the story. For the most part, we've gotten the major players. There are still a handful of characters remaining from the book, though many of their stories have been combined with other characters on the show. Perhaps the most important character who still hasn't appeared in the show is Lord Unwin Peake, whose presence could portend another villain's appearance in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. House Of The Dragon Season 4 Could Still Introduce Lord Unwin Peake Lord Unwin Peake is the Head of House Peake during the Dance of the Dragons, a house of the Reach and a supporter of Aegon II and the Greens. After Ormund's death during the First Battle of Tumbleton, which might be the only Battle of Tumbleton in House of the Dragon, Unwin vies for control of the Green host. Later, he, along with several other commanders, betrays Ulf the White and Hugh Hammer, and through a series of political back-and-forths, comes to have a seat at the small council table once the Targaryen Civil War ends and leaders from both sides are invited to work together. As Hand of the King, Unwin is disliked for his grasping nature and selfish indulgences, and eventually he is sent home. It's possible that Unwin's story has been and will be spread out among Ormund's (James Norton) and Jon Roxton's (Joplin Sibtain), but he could provide some political antagonism in season 4. His presence indicates how much has changed after the Dance of the Dragons, and how the strength of the Targaryens has slid so much; even small houses like House Peake are rising in response. Unwin also sets up a future Peake in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms​​​​​​. Lord Gormon Peake Is A Major Villain In The Dunk And Egg Series Lord Gormon Peake is another striving member of House Peake, and an important character in the Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, which A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms adapted in 2026. The upcoming season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be based on the second book of the series, The Sworn Sword. If season 2 bleeds into season 3, and if season 3 adapts the third novella, The Mystery Knight, then it's possible we could see Gormon Peake. Gormon is a major player in that third book. The show has already hinted that the lords of Westeros are unhappy with the Targaryens, and Gormon is the pinnacle of this. He supported the Blackfyre rebels before the events of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and like his ancestor Unwin, seeks to Trojan-horse his family into matters of the court with another Targaryen claimant. He's a character certain to be in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and Unwin appearing in House of the Dragon would provide some helpful context for fans of both shows.
