When they rushed there, they found Virendra lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to his chest, and his service carbine lying nearby. Police said he was immediately taken to hospital. After receiving information about the incident, police officers reached the hospital and made inquiries. The carbine found at the scene was seized, and Virendra's family members also reached the hospital after being informed of his death."We are investigating the circumstances under which the shot was fired and the reason for Virendra's visit to Sector 29. CCTV cameras in the vicinity are also being examined to determine whether Virendra went to Sector 29 alone or accompanied by someone else. A probe is underway," said Rajiv Kumar, ACP Central, Faridabad. Police said Virendra joined the Haryana Police in 2004 and that his family lives in his native village, Godota. A senior police officer said the post-mortem would be conducted soon.
