His suspicion reportedly stemmed from a new set of toe rings that Madhu had purchased for Karwa Chauth.According to the initial findings, Madhu told Anand that someone had gifted her the toe rings when he questioned her about them. However, Anand suspected that his elder brother had given them to her and developed doubts about their relationship. On the morning of Karwa Chauth, Anand reportedly saw the toe rings and became furious. He attacked his sleeping wife with a pestle (moosal), repeatedly striking her head and face. Madhu suffered multiple injuries and died in the attack. The incident took place in Tyagi Nagar, where Anand killed Madhu on Thursday. After the murder, he called emergency helpline 112 himself to inform the police about the incident. Police arrested him and seized the pestle used in the killing. A forensic science laboratory (FSL) team also visited the crime scene and collected evidence.SON WOKE UP TO SCREAMS, FATHER SAID HE HAD KILLED MOTHERThe couple's 14-year-old son told police that he woke up after hearing screams. His father then told him, "I have killed your mother."The family rushed to check on Madhu and found her lying under a blanket. When they removed it, they noticed an injury to her head and saw that she was bleeding. In his statement to police, the boy also described the circumstances at home earlier that day. Madhu had told Anand that it was Karwa Chauth and that she would not work, after which she went to sleep. The boy said he was at home and later spent some time on his phone and playing with a friend. He also recalled that his parents had argued over household matters.POLICE PROBE SUSPICION AND DOMESTIC DISPUTESCSP Murar Sandeep Bangre said preliminary investigations pointed to suspicion over Madhu's character and domestic disputes as possible reasons behind the murder. The couple's son had earlier told police that his parents frequently argued over allegations that Madhu supported her relatives instead of her husband."Papa used to say that Mummy supported her relatives, not him. He thought that all her family members were his enemies," the boy said. The family had also reportedly argued over cooking a day before the murder. Police are examining these disputes alongside the suspicion linked to the toe rings to establish the circumstances that led to the killing.Investigators are also examining Anand's mental condition as part of the probe.COUPLE HAD A LOVE MARRIAGE IN 2010Anand and Madhu married in 2010 after falling in love.
