Following a two-and-a-half-year gap, Ritchie's The Gentlemen season 2 finally made its long-awaited debut on Netflix on September 3. The crime series, which serves as a spinoff of his 2019 thriller movie of the same name, originally premiered in 2024 to critical acclaim and streaming success. The sophomore outing quickly followed suit, with The Gentlemen season 2's Rotten Tomatoes critics score currently sitting at a "Certified Fresh" 86%, improving upon season 1's 75% rating. Now, its audience rating is seeing an even more exciting boost. After The Gentlemen season 2's Rotten Tomatoes audience score debuted at just 78% on September 6, the rating has seen a significant increase as more viewers have watched the series given their reviews throughout the new episodes' first three weeks on Netflix. In that time, The Gentlemen season 2's audience score has jumped to 87% based on over 500 ratings, setting a new record of being the highest audience score for any season of a Guy Ritchie-directed TV show. That record was previously held by The Gentlemen season 1, which currently has a Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 84% from over 1000 ratings. Meanwhile, season 2 now surpasses both seasons of the Guy Ritchie-directed Paramount+ series MobLand, as its first season has a 67% score while its currently-airing sophomore entry presently holds a 69% rating. Hoping to avoid the same lengthy gap between its first two outings, the third season of Ritchie's hit crime thriller has already reportedly started filming in Morocco, with star Theo James teasing season 3 will take the story to multiple new locations. Meanwhile, as The Gentlemen is in the midst of bringing the series back to the small screen sooner after season 2's record-breaking success, Guy Ritchie's other two ongoing TV shows also have new seasons in the works. Though MobLand season 2 is still airing new episodes weekly through late November, Paramount+ has already greenlit the crime series' return for season 3.
