Najeeb Guruvayur was steeped in devotion and celebration on Ashtami Rohini, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, as thousands of devotees thronged Sreekrishna Temple for darshan and special rituals.The rush began well before dawn. Hundreds of devotees had taken their place in the queue on Thursday night itself to be among the first to have Nirmalya Darshan when the temple opened.From the moment the sanctum doors opened, devotees continued to stream into the temple town. By morning, the queue for darshan had stretched beyond the East Nada and reached the special pandal at the Kausthubham complex.With special darshan arrangements being restricted, devotees standing in the general queue were able to have darshan more smoothly. Drinking water and slices of watermelon were distributed to devotees waiting in the long queues.Thousands of devotees also took part in the special Ashtami Rohini Prasada Oottu organised at the Sree Guruvayurappan auditorium.
