Eric Chelle’s side are strong favourites to take control of a group that also contains AFCON co-hosts Tanzania and Madagascar, whom they beat last Friday. However, they will have to cope without Victor Osimhen, as their star striker is not involved once again as he recovers from a groin injury suffered on club duty with Galatasaray earlier this season.He was replaced in the lineup by Al-Ittihad striker George Ilenikhena and he marked his senior debut with the equaliser as Nigeria made hard work of Madagascar in their first outing since the Unity Cup and a pair of pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Portugal in the summer.
