Guilty plea for paedophile connected to alleged childcare rapist Joshua Brown

September 4, 2026 — 4:39pmA paedophile caught by detectives investigating accused childcare rapist Joshua Brown pleaded guilty on Friday to dozens of child abuse crimes.Matthew Green, also known as Kaleigh Green, showed little expression during a hearing at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court while entering the guilty plea to child rape, bestiality and possessing a child-like sex doll.Paedophile Matthew Green, also known as Kaleigh Green, on Friday pleaded guilty to dozens of child sexual abuse offences.Green, who now identifies as a woman, appeared remotely from Ravenhall prison and is being held in the Forbes unit, a high-protection unit within the jail.Green pleaded guilty to 36 offences, including child rape, producing and transmitting child abuse material, and performing sexual acts in front of a child.The 29-year-old also pleaded guilty to two counts of bestiality and one count of possessing a child-like sex doll.Green, who once worked for a property maintenance company, sat with hands clasped and spent much of the hearing looking downward displaying no emotion.“I plead guilty, your honour,” Green said.Sex crime detectives first arrested Green, from Frankston, in September 2025 as part of the ongoing investigating that uncovered Brown.Joshua Brown.Marija ErcegovacGreen’s offending does not relate to childcare settings, and Brown is not listed as a co-accused. Green is connected to the two men through the police investigation, not the offending itself.A raid on a home in April 2025 eventually led investigators to childcare worker Brown, whose arrest exposed the monumental failures in the state’s child safety systems, and prompted a series of major reforms.Detectives arrested Green four months later, but the arrest was first revealed in March after this masthead successfully applied for an order banning publication of the matter to be lifted.Green was originally charged with 194 charges, but the court heard on Friday that they had been struck out and replaced by the 36 charges.Charges are often rolled up to combine multiple instances of an offence into a single count when accused people plead guilty.Magistrate Michelle Mykytowycz noted Green’s guilty plea and set a plea hearing in the County Court in March next year.Green attended Frankston South’s Mount Erin Secondary College and graduated in 2015.
