Considering it’s the biggest gaming franchise in the entire world, GTA has never really stopped being a part of the conversation. Even still, it’s fair to say that there’s never been quite as much hype surrounding Rockstar’s magnum opus as there is right now with GTA 6 on the distant horizon and getting ready to finally show us more. While we wait for Jason and Lucia’s long-awaited Vice City journey, though, GTA fans have no choice but to spend their time waiting by diving back into the series’ past. While I’ve personally gone for replaying GTA 4, one talented modder has somehow managed to get the entirety of GTA 3 and Vice City running simultaneously in a San Andreas texture. GTA Vice City Is Now Playable Within GTA 3… While Playing San Andreas Now That’s GTA As The Housers Intended As highlighted in a Twitter post that’s gone viral, modder dryxio2 has managed to make the entirety of Grand Theft Auto 3 playable within San Andreas. In the post, which is also a video on their YouTube page, CJ is shown placing a TV down on Grove Street and then booting up GTA 3's iconic intro. I thought that this was just a gameplay walkthrough being shown on the TV texture at first, but the modder has actually made GTA 3 playable within that single San Andreas texture. The video only shows a small part of GTA 3's first mission being played, but it’s pretty clear that the modding wizardry has allowed the whole game to function inside another GTA. As if that wasn’t enough, dryxio2 went one ridiculous step further by somehow figuring out how to get Vice City running on a single texture in the version of GTA 3 running on a single texture in San Andreas. Yes, my head hurts as well. Watching CJ watch Claude play as Tommy Vercetti is an even less viable way to experience GTA, but I’m astounded it’s even possible.
