Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is 67% off right now, meaning you can grab GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas for just $19.79. The Definitive Edition is infamously the worst way to play the original trilogy, but unfortunately, the original trilogy has been delisted, so there's no alternative on Steam. Unless you have $80–200 to spend on keys. GTA 4 Is 70% Off Until November 19 Alternatively, you can pick up the best Grand Theft Auto game for $5.99 as GTA 4: The Complete Edition is 70% off until November 19, the day that GTA 6 launches. PC players might not be able to visit Leonida, but they can at least return to Liberty City and go bowling with Niko and his cousin. Bizarrely, however, GTA 5 is not included in the sale. The GTA Trilogy Is Still The Worst Way To Play, But It's Not As Bad As It Was 5 Years Ago While the Definitive Edition of the original GTA trilogy still sits at 'Mixed' reviews on Steam, there have been a few improvements to the remasters since launch: Classic Lighting was added in 2024. The original fog was brought back. Clouds were reworked. Rain effects thankfully saw improvement. Several textures were replaced, including the infamous donut bolt. Cutscenes can now be paused. Mission progression bugs were addressed. Save files now display the date and time. Everything still has that glossy, plastic sheen, with old characters feeling more like Fortnite models than their semi-realistic predecessors, but the game isn't nearly as bad as it was at launch. The originals are still the best way to play these classics, but if you're hankering for a pre-GTA 6 marathon and have no other option, things could be a lot worse.
