Sign in to your TheGamer account Almost two weeks on from the GTA 6 Extended Look on Netflix, more new details about Rockstar’s next game continue to find their way out into the world. The latest is the controversial decision to make in-game sleep, or a lack of it, affect Jason and Lucia’s performance. Don't Lose Sleep In GTA 6 Rockstar The latest sting of new details about GTA 6 comes from an interview Rockstar’s Rob Nelson conducted with TGG (thanks, GamesRadar+). It’s in this interview that Nelson confirms Jason and Lucia might not operate quite as optimally as usual if you keep them awake too long. Whether the protagonists are getting enough sleep will be monitored by an in-game health app. I’m assuming that app will also be your first port of call to find out whether Jason and Lucia are eating well enough and getting enough exercise. It has already been confirmed that, similar to CJ in GTA San Andreas, the lead characters will gain weight or become more muscular, depending on whether you eat too much or work out frequently. Are You Well Rested? Rockstar “It will say whether you're well rested or not,” Nelson explained in regard to the health app’s sleep tracker, adding, “That will have some effect on regen of certain attributes.” That makes it sound like if you don’t let Jason and Lucia rest, they won’t be as effective when you venture back out to rob banks and complete heists. Perhaps their aim might be off, or they’ll run out of stamina more quickly. Nelson does briefly refer to other “good stuff” the health app will track, but doesn’t go into a huge amount of detail. He does confirm that it will take quite a bit of overeating to make Jason and Lucia look like they’ve gained weight. I already know there will be plenty of you out there reading that as if it’s a challenge rather than a warning. On the r/Games subreddit, GTA fans are split over whether a level of realism that requires you to track how much the main characters are sleeping is a little much or not. Those who want GTA 6 to basically be a life sim where they can commit crimes and do whatever they want welcome it. Those who want to focus on the missions and the story will see details like making sure characters get eight hours every night, eat well, and go to the gym see all of those added details as distractions, with some even suggesting Rockstar include a toggle so those features can be turned off.
