GTA 6 Could Save You $5,000 According To Self-Made Millionaire

British Millionaire Explains How Buying GTA 6 Could Save You $5,000 Rockstar Published Nov 3, 2026, 9:43 AM EST Josh Coulson is an editor at TheGamer covering breaking news on everything from colorful platformers to the latest Lego sets. Primarily a news writer since 2018, Josh has covered just about every major game from the past decade. Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company. GTA 6 is the first new game since Mario Kart World to have an $80 standard edition, with a $100 ultimate edition if you want access to all of its in-game stores. That’s a lot of money for just one game, except a self-made millionaire has explained how the one-off, $100 expenditure could end up saving you thousands in the long run. How A $100 Copy Of GTA 6 Could Save You $5,000 Rockstar The millionaire in question is Mark Tilbury, a British millionaire who, among other things, uses social media to share investment and money-saving tips. His latest video has quickly gone viral as it explains why buying a $100 copy of GTA 6 could end up saving you $5,000. Tilbury begins by breaking down how much entertainment you’re getting per hour in GTA 6, based on the reveal by Rockstar that its story will take 80 hours to play through. Dollars-per-hour isn’t a metric I typically like to consider when weighing up the value of a game, but for the sake of this fun exercise, let’s hear Tilbury out. If you were to play GTA 6 for 80 hours and then never touch it again, you’d have paid $1.25 for the experience. That’s not bad at all. This is where Tilbury loses me a little, though. He then notes that once you add in side content and map exploration, the price-per-hour for GTA 6 drops to just 50 cents. That’s 200 hours, and while I’m sure many, if not most of us will spend that much time in Leonida, if not more, he doesn’t explain where that 200-hour figure comes from. Regardless of how much you end up paying per hour for GTA 6, Tilbury still hasn’t explained how buying it for $100 could end up saving you $5,000. The start of the road to that number begins with the assumption that GTA 6 owners will play the game in four hour chunks. Divide that 200-hour total by four, and you get 50 play sessions. Are You Passing Up On A Night Out Every Time You Play GTA 6? Rockstar That means, at least according to Tilbury, that your GTA 6 playthrough will result in you opting to not go out and paint the town red at least 50 times. The millionaire hypothesizes that you might spend $100 on any given night out, multiply that number by the 50 nights out you’re not having because you’re at home running around Vice City, and that’s how he concludes that a $100 copy of GTA 6 could end up saving you a cool 5k. There are a lot of assumptions being made here. Assumptions that not only won’t apply to everyone playing GTA 6, but probably won’t even apply to the average GTA 6 player. From the hours spent with the game to how long they’re playing it each time. Most of all, though, the idea that someone is choosing to stay in and play GTA 6 over going out and spending $100 each time not once, not twice, but 50 times - that’s just not happening. The big takeaway here, again, as much as I don’t like to boil a game down to dollars spent vs. hours played, is that for $80, or $100, you are almost certainly going to get your money’s worth out of GTA 6.
