Your Amazon Prime membership has a new perk that’s available now. On Thursday, Amazon announced that US Prime members will get free delivery on Uber Eats orders made directly through Amazon’s app or website. And you’ll get $20 off the first two Uber Eats eligible orders of $25 or more for the first 14 days, plus Amazon-exclusive offers. If you have a Prime Visa credit card, you’ll earn 5% back on all Uber Eats orders until Dec. 5, 2026, with a Prime membership. It’s another perk that may make Amazon Prime membership worthwhile, especially if you already use Uber Eats. But you may wonder what that means for the GrubHub partnership that both Amazon and GrubHub touted for years — dating back to 2022. Before now, your Prime subscription included a GrubHub Plus membership at no additional cost. GrubHub Plus included no delivery fees, lower service fees and 5% back on pickup orders. The new partnership launch just so happens to be the same day that Lyft and DoorDash announced that they’re teaming up for a new subscription, Lyft Go. An Amazon spokesperson said in an email to CNET that the GrubHub and Amazon partnership ended on Thursday. There’s no telling how long Amazon will partner with Uber Eats. “We continuously evaluate our third-party offers to ensure they provide the best possible value for Prime members,” the Amazon spokesperson said. “As part of that ongoing evaluation, we identified an opportunity to deliver an even better restaurant delivery experience.” However, a GrubHub spokesperson said in an email to CNET that if you have a Prime membership and activated GrubHub Plus, you’ll have the membership until Dec. 31, 2027. GrubHub shared a joint statement from Amazon and GrubHub in an email to CNET: On Nov. 5, Grubhub and Amazon have decided to end the Prime-exclusive Grubhub Plus offer, and Amazon customers will no longer be able to place Grubhub orders through Amazon.com or the Amazon Shopping app. Amazon and Grubhub are proud of the partnership and the value provided to Prime members over the years. As the agreement concludes, both companies remain committed to serving our customers and delivering a great customer experience. The new Uber Eats perk is now available to all Prime members, including those with Prime Access and Prime for Young Adults. And if you’re looking for another dining option, your Amazon Prime membership still offers free same-day delivery on perishable grocery orders over $25 when you order from Amazon Grocery.
