Coming about the past few months has been Moose as a GNOME-aligned AI chat application built around GTK4 and libadwaita. It began as a local AI chat app for the GNOME desktop and grew to support cloud AI services as well. This past week marked the latest feature release for Moose. The updated GNOME AI chat app also now has a GNOME Files browser for interacting with files on your system and attaching them to an AI chat conversation. There is also an expanded local model catalog for chat / vision / reasoning / coding purposes. Moose 0.6.1 was also released with some follow-on changes, including support for connecting to Mistral AI and DeepSeek from Moose. Moose can be downloaded from GitHub and also available in Flatpak form on Flathub.
