Genshin Impact 7.1: Release Date, Livestream Codes, New Characters, Banners, Story Updates, & More

This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.Developer HoYoverse has officially revealed the upcoming content for Genshin Impact 7.1, including the update’s release date, new playable characters, the banner structure for the period, story details, and, of course, the regular livestream codes that players can redeem for in-game freebies. A few weeks ago, the action RPG entered Version 7.0, which finally took players to the Snezhnaya region. The release of Genshin Impact 7.0 brought forth a whole new region, plus new playable characters with new mechanics, like the Stellar-based reactions – which had already been added, but are now deeper than ever. With a whole new region and new characters, like Alyosha in Genshin Impact, players were also met with brand-new materials to farm throughout Snezhnaya. They were also met with the start of an important story arc centered around the Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon, and her fight against Celestia and its forces, including Ronova. There’s a lot going on in the RPG right now, and more is soon expected to come with the arrival of Version 7.1, which will continue to expand on Snezhnaya and all of its elements. Genshin Impact 7.1 - Release Date You won’t have to wait much longer to gain access to Version 7.1 and its contents. HoYoverse has revealed that the official release date for Genshin Impact 7.1 is September 23, across all platforms on which the game is currently available. This means that you have a bit less than two weeks to get up-to-date with the narrative content before diving into the next chapters, as well as make your pulls in the Phase 2 banners in the patch, which include Ineffa and Flins in Genshin Impact. With the release date now set by HoYoverse, it’s highly unlikely that we’ll see a delay of any sort affecting the game with this upcoming patch. Usually, when a delay is in order, the company pushes back the livestream from when it would normally occur, and since the livestream has happened and the release date was announced, we should expect the Version 7.1 update in mid-September. Genshin Impact 7.1 Livestream Codes One of the things featured during the Version 7.1 special event was the compilation of the Genshin Impact 7.1 livestream codes, which grant access to several in-game benefits. By redeeming these codes, you can get things like Character EXP materials, but the most important reward from these codes is the free Primogems. In total, HoYoverse made three livestream codes available, each containing 100 Primogems, for a total of 300 free Primogems in Genshin Impact. The table below lists all three livestream codes and their respective rewards: Genshin Impact 7.1 Codes Rewards Rekviem 100x Primogems, 10x Mystic Enhancement Ore PLACEHOLDER 100x Primogems, 5x Hero's Wit PLACEHOLDER 100x Primogems, 50,000x Mora All three codes are limited and must be redeemed before they expire on September 15 at 12 am ET, lest you lose out on their rewards. To do so, you can access the official Genshin Impact website, log in, and redeem each code individually. The same can be done via the game itself, on the Account tab in the Settings. After redeeming these codes, you’ll need to claim the rewards from your in-game mailbox to use them. The new characters were one of the main highlights during the presentation, confirming the leaks that we’re getting two new playable units in Version 7.1. One of them is Vesna, a new 5-star Anemo character who wields a sword in combat. This new Snezhnaya character in Genshin Impact is an on-field Anemo DPS who is a specialist in Stellar-Swirl, a new variation of the regular Swirl reaction triggered by the interaction between Anemo and Cryo. With her Skill, Vesna can change modes, effectively dealing elemental damage with her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks, while also unlocking a special version of her Elemental Skill. Vesna will pair up very well with Odette in Genshin Impact, since Odette is an off-field Cryo character who also works with Stellar-Swirl. The second new character is Vodyanitsa, a 5-star Hydro character who uses a catalyst in combat. Contrary to Vesna, Vodyanitsa’s main role in team comps will be to provide healing for party members, as her Skill invokes a summon and she gains an effect that cures the active character. She will also have other support mechanics, such as applying Hydro and Cryo RES shred on enemies and enhancing the power of Stellar powers, like Stellar Vortexes and Stellar-Swirl reactions. Vesna and Vodyanitsa will make their debuts in separate banners during Version 7.1, and they’ll be accompanied by Skirk and Escoffier rerun banners during the patch, truly leaning into the whole Cryo theme of Snezhnaya. Genshin Impact 7.1 - Story Updates, Events, & More Even though the new characters are exciting, Version 7.1 is arguably more exciting due to the story updates that it will bring. Not only are Vesna and Vodyanitsa being thrown into the spotlight, but we’ll also get more information about the Tsaritsa and her fight against Celestia and its forces. Moreover, we’re looking toward the introduction of Rhinedottir, one of the witches of the Hexenzirkel in Genshin Impact, plus the presence of Ronova, Dainsleif, and Pierro, the director of the Fatui Harbingers. On top of all that, you can expect several limited-time events that were detailed during the recent livestream, which give players more content to play through, as well as Primogems to pull for characters. There’s a lot going on with Genshin Impact this year, and Version 7.1 is going to be a blast.
