Gemma Collins ‘doesn’t want anyone to hate’ on fiancé Rami Hawash after Sky documentary

The eight-part series is a truly unique celebrity documentary, following the former The Only Way Is Essex star during the toughest chapter of her life. What was initially proposed as a reality TV stint following Gemma and Rami trying to have their first child together and plan a wedding soon became an entirely different show. The couple, who have been on-off together for 15 years, learned their fertility journey would be more treacherous than initially thought; Gemma’s mother Joan died of pneumonia aged 70, and Rami’s drinking spiralled out of control. His destructive relationship with booze is featured heavily in the first two episodes. At one point, Gemma makes the mechanic a slap-up meal, gleefully planning an exciting romantic meal for two, when she notices he’s been drinking. Very quickly, her dreamy date night turns into disaster as she walks out of their home to spend the night with her mum in hospital. (Picture: Jeff Spicer/Getty Images for The NTA’s) At a private screening of Everything All At Once attended by Metro, Gemma assured that throughout the series Rami really puts the work in to heal, grow and change his relationship with alcohol. ‘Rami finally continues to work on himself and get the help,’ she says, turning to him. ‘Because you deserve to love yourself.’ The I’m A Celebrity star called his addiction ‘a coping mechanism that’s got out of hand’. She then pleaded with the audience and said: ‘As much as you’re all sitting in here thinking, “Rami is an absolute whatever,” he has been brave sharing it with everyone, so you do have to applaud him for that. You can’t force someone to get well; they need to want it from within. I can be as happy in my garage and have a laugh with everyone, but when I go home I just want my drink.’ He continued: ‘I wanted people to know it’s a problem, people hiding a lot of things, and I wanted people to see what we actually are – my alcohol problem and life is not that great.’ Rami attributed a lot of his struggles with alcohol to the loss of his dad. His father died in an accident in 2024, leaving the businessman and Gemma absolutely devastated, which is briefly touched on in the documentary.
