THOUSANDS on benefits will see payments land early in their bank accounts this week. The government announced the new pay out date to help families receive their money “without disruption”. Originally, the money was supposed to be arriving on the bank holiday Monday, August 31. Universal Credit, State Pension, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, and Disability Living Allowance will all be paid out by the end of this week. The government has said that the early payments will “provide financial certainty for families as they prepare for the new school year” and mean that parents and carers can “plan their spending with confidence”. While those living in Scotland have different bank holiday dates, the early benefit payment will apply across the entire UK this Friday. Minister for Social Security and Disability, Sir Stephen Timms, said: “We’re pleased to confirm that benefit payments due on the August bank holiday will be paid earlier. “This will help ensure families and older people receive their money without disruption over the bank holiday period. Most read in Money “This Government is determined to ensure people up and down the country have the support and breathing room they need, which is why we’ve acted to take money off energy bills, increase the National Minimum Wage and lift half a million children out of poverty, as well as supporting people into good, secure job.” Other schemes rolled out by the government to try and tackle the cost of living crisis include a new bus fare limit of £2 on single tickets across local routes. Branded items in schools are now capped to three per child, helping parents save money on school uniforms ahead of the new term.
