Former Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin arrested while performing as extra on Christian film set

Former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin was arrested on contempt-of-court charges in central Kentucky and booked into Louisville’s Jefferson County jail on Thursday evening.Bevin had a live bench warrant against him after a Jefferson County judge found him in contempt of court for failing to turn over his financial records in his divorce and child support proceedings.Bourbon County law enforcement arrested Bevin on Thursday while he was in Paris, Kentucky, working as an extra in a Christmas movie being filmed on a horse farm about 20 miles outside Lexington, according to Louisville Public Media. The Republican politician served as governor of Kentucky from 2015 to 2019, before losing his reelection bid to current Gov. Andy Beshear (D-KY).Bevin’s arrest stems from a court battle over his 2023 divorce from his ex-wife, Glenna Bevin, and a proceeding over whether the two owe their estranged, adopted son, Jonah Bevin, 19, child support.In late July, Matt Bevin skipped an in-person hearing in the child support case while his warrant stood, unsuccessfully attempting to join the hearing over Zoom.
