The former Illinois sheriff’s deputy who was jailed for fatally shooting Sonya Massey, a Black woman who called 911 for help, has died in prison, his attorney said.Sean Grayson was convicted of second-degree murder over the 2024 killing of Massey.His attorney, Daniel Fultz, said that Grayson died in prison around noon Sunday, according to NBC News. Grayson, who had Stage 3 colon cancer, was six months into his 20-year prison sentence. His cause of death has not been confirmed.More follows
