Football Manager 27 release date confirmed as new deep dive released

After last year’s entry became one of the worst received ever, fans are hoping for a return to form with the next game, which is being promoted as a full recovery from the franchise’s recent turmoil. As announced today, Football Manager 27 will launch on November 10, 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, priced at £49.99. A mobile version will be released on the same day via Netflix, with more platforms to be revealed at a later date. If you want to try it out before then, developer Sports Interactive has said a preview version will be available ‘one to two weeks before the street date’, with more information set to follow. Alongside the release date, a deep dive video outlines some of the changes you can expect. This particular video focuses on the revamped visuals within matches, with promises of better crowd models and more varied outfits to reflect the season. The seasonal changes extends to the weather on the pitch, and Sports Interactive claims stadiums around the world will feel more unique this time around, with designs to reflect stadiums built between 1990 and 2010. The other visual changes seem pretty minor, with better hair physics on players and more dynamic cutscenes. Football Manager games have never been about visual fidelity, so it still looks pretty primitive by modern standards. Sports Interactive released a different deep dive earlier this month, highlighting user interface improvements, which will likely be of more interest to fans – as you’re buried in menus for the majority of the game. It remains to be seen if Football Manager 27 will right the wrongs of Football Manager 26, which had a particularly rocky launch. On Metacritic, the last entry carries a score of 68 based on 44 reviews, and a dismal 2.9 user score. Football Manager 26 was the first game in the series built in the Unity engine, which led to a prolonged development cycle and the cancellation of Football Manager 25. Whether Football Manager 27 will completely reverse the franchise’s fortunes remains to be seen, but it’s alarming for such a beloved series to suddenly fare so badly.
