Five easy ways to make your motor sparkle before school run season without splashing out

CLEANING your car shouldn’t cost a fortune. If summer road trips have left your motor full of crumbs and crisp wrappers, there are lots of cheap ways to make it look as good as new. Leave to dry fully before putting them back in the car. If you have carpet car mats, give them all a good brush to loosen up any embedded dirt, then vacuum away any leftover debris. Cut a small square of paper or card, spritz with a few sprays of your favourite perfume or aftershave, and pop it in your door pocket. Another easy way to make your car smell great, is with a wooden clothes peg. Just add a few drops of essential oil to the peg and leave it to dry.
