Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Fans Are Using Bananas To Save Money At Checkout Custom image by Steven Garrard Published Sep 18, 2026, 6:03 PM EDT Steven is a seasoned writer specializing in the video game and technological fields, with years of experience creating reviews, features, and industry analysis. Sign in to your TheGamer account Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave has been blowing players' expectations out of the water, with early reviews noting the mesmerizing amount of content available to experience. Even Nintendo seemed to underestimate its success, as several official retailers have started selling out of physical copies of Fortune's Weave due to the sheer amount of demand for the game. Thankfully, one retailer not only seems to have a limitless supply of copies of Fortune's Weave for players to pick up, but fans have also figured out a way to get the strategy RPG at a considerable discount using nothing but a simple code and a yellow fruit. Fans Have Found A Strange New Discount For Fortune's Weave As noted by frequent deal-slinger Wario64 on X, you can save $10 on a copy of Fortune's Weave by applying the code FAST30 or SAVE3X when purchasing through Walmart US. While the deal sounds normal enough, Wario64 and countless players have reported that the deal often only works when adding a banana to your cart and/or swapping to pickup, allowing you to get both for a reduced price. If you don't feel like eating and refuse to waste a perfectly good banana, removing the produce from your cart will supposedly allow you to keep the deal applied to your cart, offering a rare day-one discount for a Switch 2 title with incredibly little effort. While you might think that adding any old item would work for the bulk discount, other X users have reported that the deal seems to only work due to codes like FAST30 offering discounts specifically for produce orders worth $35 or more, which somehow applies to Fortune's Weave and other Nintendo titles for some reason. The Method Even Works For Other Nintendo Games While I can't confirm or deny if the discount method still works as of writing this, since Walmart.com seems to be having difficulties when trying to search for fruit of any kind (likely as a result of the recently discovered exploit), Nintendo fans have been taking advantage of the discount for far more than just Fortune's Weave. Being used for Switch games ranging from Donkey Kong Bananza to Kirby and the Forgotten Lands, the deal became so widespread after the release of Fortune's Weave that players like AnAverageGamerX have shared that their local stores have even sold out of bananas entirely. Even though the deal is likely gone for good by now, the fact that so many fans were able to snag one of the year's most anticipated releases through such a strange method is still a blessing, especially since it offered a snack to fuel the long gaming sessions needed to beat Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave's 100+ hour adventure.
