That’s exactly what the tortured mind of modder jbg0801 has devised, with the aptly titled DSR Sitcom Mod. “Have you ever seen that meme of the sitcom mod for Dark Souls?” the description asks. “Canned audience reactions to most things you do. There’s audience reactions for: getting hit, dying, starting a boss fight, killing a boss, entering an area. Enjoy!” Don't Worry, An Elden Ring Version Is In The Works Too It’s been a recurring meme and an in-joke among the community for a while now, but finally, it’s real. And frankly, I think this is a bigger challenge than SL1 or the broken straightsword simply because there’s a Big Bang Theory live audience waiting for your every slip-up, turning each empty Estus Flask into a painfully grating Bazinga. Announcing the mod on Reddit, jbg0801 explained that they wanted to take the meme “a step further,” and that not only includes Dark Souls — they have plans to bring the mod to other FromSoftware titles. “For everyone asking, yes, I intend to do DS2, 3, and Elden Ring versions of the mod as well,” they said. They even recorded a brief three-minute showcase of the mod, playing through the tutorial where they’re of course laughed at for being hit by the Asylum Demon. But there’s an upside to the live audience. After hurling the final black firebomb, the audience claps as the boss dissipates into smoke, letting out a cheer or two. It’s easy to imagine this making the cramped Capra Demon fight even more of a headache, or the tedious Seeth the Scaleless tail cutting for the Moonlight Greatsword, nevermind Manus and Artorias. Then again, it’s all the more incentive not to get hit, lest you be laughed at by an invisible audience of Crestfallen Warriors.
