Final Fantasy 15 Officially Returning In New September 2026 DLC

Sign in to your ScreenRant account There's no doubt that back in the 1990s and early 2000s that the Final Fantasy series was on a generational run, and it really felt like Square Enix couldn't put a foot wrong with each new release. That was always an unrealistic expectation though, and it was far more likely that games would come along at some point that didn't quite meet all expectations. The most obvious example of that in recent times is Final Fantasy XV, which, although it had some extraordinary highs, did also have some genuinely disappointing lows. That said, the overall package was compelling enough that its return in any form would be an exciting moment for fans, and it's about to do just that in one of the most beloved and popular games in the series to date. As first reported by Siliconera, Final Fantasy XIV is about to get an official collaboration with the title above, as Square Enix announced the return of A Nocturne for Heroes. The event is identical to the version we've seen previously, which first debuted back in 2019, so there's not much new to do if you've already completed it on a character in the past. That said, this is the first time Switch 2 players will be able to get in on the action, and your progress has also been saved if you only managed to get partway through in previous iterations, meaning you can pick up from where you left off last time without having to start again. The main caveat to being able to jump straight into the fun is that you will need a character at level 50 that has also finished the Realm Reborn main scenario quest in order to start the questline that the crossover is based around. There are 3 quests in total and when you reach the end you'll be able to pick up the Regalia Type-G mount and the Lucian Prince’s armor set, that features boots, bottoms, a fingerless glove, and a jacket. Though you won't be able to attain rewards using this method, you can play through the quests again if you have already done them in previous years. To do so, speak to Kipih Jakkya to make use of the Seasonal Event Replay feature. Once you have done so, the following quests will be treated as incomplete, allowing you to play them again: The Man in Black In the Dark of Night Messenger of the Winds The event is set to run from September 24 until October 13 at 09.59 ET, so there's plenty of time to work through everything it has to offer and pick up your rewards.
