Fans terrified of giant Ronnie O’Sullivan mural as snooker legend is ‘turned into a zombie’

SNOOKER fans have been left mortified after spotting a giant Ronnie O’Sullivan mural in Sheffield. The Rocket, 50, booked his place in the semi-finals of the Wuhan Open by sealing a thrilling 5-3 win over Mark Selby this morning. O’Sullivan can be seen leaning over the table preparing to pot a red in the massive painting. But snooker fans raced onto social media to hit out at the design and claimed to be terrified. They’ve turned him into a zombie!” Another added: “Ha, look at the f***ing state of this mural of Ronnie O’Sullivan in Sheffield.” A third chimed in: “The Ronnie O’Sullivan wall painted mural can’t hurt you…” A fourth noted: “Saw this on here and thought it might be AI so I went and had a look. Oh, it’s real. He said: “I don’t really have much hope to regain the kind of level I was at before. “I know that I can play that well, but when you have really bad technical issues, if you can fix them, then obviously I would be much more optimistic about the future. “But I just don’t think they’re able to be fixed, especially at this stage of my career. “Maybe ten or 15 years ago, I could have had the time to do it, but I just don’t really have the time to see it through, maybe. “I’ll give myself 18 months maybe, until the end of the 2028 World Championship, to see if I can get somewhere back to how I used to hit the ball and if I can hit the ball half decent I can still win tournaments. “But as it stands, it’s pretty ugly out there for me and maybe ugly for you guys to watch me play.” O’Sullivan’s last major snooker title came in January 2024 at the World Grand Prix, but he is edging towards Wuhan Open glory.
