Fallout 5 Can Wait, Fallout 4 Is Getting Tons Of New Content

Fallout 5 finally looms on the horizon, which is an exciting prospect for those of us who've sunk thousands of hours into Fallout 4 and are ready for something new. It has been over a decade since Fallout 4 launched, and eight years since the disastrous release of Fallout 76, which is, in the case of most incredibly popular IPs, far too long between releases. As a result, it is tempting to wish that Fallout 5 would come sooner rather than later, a sentiment shared by those of us who also love Bethesda's long-forgotten fantasy series. However, as enticing as it is to dream about everything new in Fallout 5, we shouldn't abandon Fallout 4 just yet. Sure, it is beginning to show its age, and we've all played the less-than-stellar main story to death now, but that doesn't mean we should so readily give it up. In fact, now, more than ever, is a great time to be playing Fallout 4, as it is not only the most polished it'll ever be (at least as polished as a Bethesda game can be), but it is also getting a lot of new content. Fallout 4 Is Still Getting New Content YouTube: Digital Dreams It may seem hard to believe, but in 2026, Fallout 4 is getting new expansions. These aren't small, cosmetic-focused DLC packs or a handful of new quests; rather, Fallout 4 is getting entire new regions added to the game filled with new quests, voiced NPCs, and weapons to collect, many of which feel like game-changing additions or, at the very least, DLC-sized upgrades that help keep the overall experience feeling fresh, even after 11 years. This is all coming from the Fallout 4 modding community via the Creation Club. A lot of what is added to the service are fun new cosmetics that add a little bit of flair to the experience, but a significant portion is also these aforementioned expansion-sized mods that deliver new stories and memorable quests. There are Fallout 4 expansions like Aliens, which completely change the atmosphere and amp up the tension, ones that whisk the player away to new lands to meet completely original characters; and, of course, overhaul mods that change the game entirely. The buck hasn't stopped with the likes of Fallout: London, as these huge mods are still being released today. They are more than enough reason to head back into Fallout 4 and give the game another chance. Of course, they aren't all free (especially if you're playing on Xbox and mod your copy of Fallout 4 via the Creation Club), but many of them are very much worth the effort that these incredible modders are putting into them. Now Is Not The Time To Give Up Fallout 4 It is completely understandable why one would want to leave Fallout 4 and its incredibly janky gameplay behind in favor of something new. However, it feels as if the modding community is only just starting to hit its stride with Fallout 4, much in the same way that it took a while for the likes of Enderal to be released for Skyrim. Many of the very best mods for Fallout 4 are also available for free, without the need to own any of the fancier editions beyond the DLC. Considering how cheap Fallout 4 is, how untapped so much of its potential remains, and how these incredible mods manage to deliver far more compelling experiences than Bethesda was ever capable of, it feels like the perfect time to be diving even deeper into it, rather than getting ready to leave it behind. Of course, there are those of us who truly have drained Fallout 4 for everything it is worth, but for those who have only just scratched the surface, now is the time to start trying out the incredible and ever-growing selection of expansive mods.
