Sign in to your ScreenRant account Fallout 4 is a brilliant game, and though it isn't necessarily everyone's favorite in the series to date, there are still hundreds of hours of enjoyment to be had if you're willing to give it a chance. That said, it's over ten years old at this point, so most who were planning to try it, have, and seen much of what the game has to offer. Happily, the game's spectacular modding community has always been on hand to extend that longevity even further, with new content, visual updates, and fresh locations to explore. Now, another effort had gone live, and it could be one of the most drastic alterations we've seen for Fallout 4 to date. Nexus Mods: Jabo's Community's Fallout 4 Roguelike As first reported by DSO Gaming, modder ‘Nethalythic’ has released a new download that somehow converts Fallout 4 into a roguelike dungeon crawler. Yes, you did read that right, but the stark departure from the usual formula actually looks a lot more at home here than you might initially expect. Essentially, the roguelike mode tasks players with fighting through a series of increasingly difficult rooms, all populated by the enemies we've come to know and love in the wastes. Along the way, you can gain new powers by drinking Jabo Juice, so named for the YouTuber ItsJabo whose audience helped to design the rooms featured in the mod. Along the way, you'll also get the opportunity to spend some money at shops, where you can buy legendary weapons and armor, as well as crafting materials and single-use items to aid you on your journey. If you are an existing fan of the YouTuber, you should also find that there are plenty of memes and references to spot as well. The only caveat is that there are some file requirements, so you'll need to make sure you have all of the existing DLC installed, as well as the official Creation Club plugin files for the Heavy Flamer and the unique grenade launchers from the Makeshift Weapons Pack. As with all downloads over on Nexus Mods, it's also totally free, so there's no risk to trying it out for yourself. With the next game in the Fallout series still seemingly years away, projects like the one above are our best bet for passing the time. Let's just hope that one of those promised remakes drops a little sooner than expected, as we all know Todd Howard is a big new fan of shadow dropping.
