Expedia Bets Against the All-Powerful AI Travel Agent

The company had just revealed on Tuesday that it would be available on Muse, Meta's new AI agent. Its X.com post didn’t detail how that would work, only that it’s “joining @Muse: tell it where you're headed and it can work with Expedia to sort your hotels, and everything in between.” Gorin, participating via remote video, didn’t elaborate. But she was clear about what she doesn't expect from this type of technology. "I certainly personally don't believe that a large portion of bookings are going to be an end-to-end conversational experience," she said. For her, travel planning involves several people, multiple rounds of consideration and, for some, what can be “a joy” of figuring out a trip.�
