EXCLUSIVE: Jim Jordan warns if Democrats win Congress, they’ll go after GOP’s likely 2028 candidates

DALLAS — House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) said on Wednesday that if Democrats win control of the House and Senate this November, they’ll investigate not only the Trump administration, but also the Republican Party’s 2028 presidential hopefuls.Jordan made the comments during an interview with the Washington Examiner at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, Texas.“I think what they’re really going to do is they’ll start looking at oh, who’s most likely to be our nominee for president in ’28, and you will see if they win, they’re gonna go after Rubio,” said Jordan. “They’re going to go after Vice President Vance. They’re going to go after Governor Youngkin.” “They’re going to go after all all the people that could potentially be our nominee, because for Democrats, politics is everything, and they’re going to weaponize it, and they’re going to they’re going to go after their opposition,” he added.Jordan said the tactic was one reason why Democrats ousted Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) from the top spot on the judiciary panel in favor of Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD).“They’re bringing Raskin in because they think they’re going to win,” said Jordan. “They’re going to have Raskin run the impeachment and be sort of the coordinator for their entire conference-wide investigations.”The Ohio Republican predicted Democrats would impeach President Donald Trump and “go after the first family,” the Cabinet, and “people in the private sector.”
