A RARE solar event that will turn the moon red is set to dazzle UK skies in just a matter of days. Sometimes, this can be referred to as a ‘blood moon’ as the event can cause the Moon to give off a reddish glow. Come Thursday, August 28, Brits will be able to see this spectacle for themselves. But you’ll need to get up in the wee hours of the morning to get a glimpse. The event will begin at 2:23am, where you will be able to see the Moon move into the lighter part of the Earth’s shadow. The partial lunar eclipse will begin around 3:33am, and peak at 5:12am.
