Ever since GTA 6 was properly revealed with its first trailer all the way back at the end of 2023, fans have been patiently waiting for the day that Rockstar and Take-Two would finally give us a detailed peek behind the curtain. Every Rockstar release eventually gets a gameplay deep dive that explains why we've all waited so long, and GTA 6 unarguably needed that more than any other game. It's taken a ridiculously long time to become a reality, but today finally puts an end to the painful wait for GTA 6 gameplay footage. The long-awaited Extended Look is happening right now on Netflix (and coming to YouTube later on in the day) and giving us our best look yet at GTA 6 in action after far too many years of waiting. All Of The Big Reveals From GTA 6's Extended Look Event Somehow, It Was Worth The Wait Key art provided by Rockstar Games. Jason And Lucia Shown Together The trailer opened with Jason and Lucia walking side by side through the streets to try and pick something up for a character called Boobie. Jason is the main character here, while Lucia follows behind him. The level of detail is frankly ridiculous, and we get to see our first detailed interior as the two go up an elevator. This first scene also confirms Red Dead Redemption 2's interact mechanic, with Jason petting a dog and gaining some positive karma. Cutscene Transitions Are Seamless As Jason and Lucia find the person they're looking to pick up from, we get to see a seamless cutscene transition that's a little bit mind-blowing. Combat Is A Big Improvement From GTA 5 Once things get hairy in the building, we get our first good luck at GTA 6's combat, which is a big improvement from GTA 5. It's similar to Red Dead Redemption 2's, with a hint of Max Payne 3 if you ask me. The level of detail in this building is frankly ridiculous too. You Don't Have To Break Windows To Jack Cars The gameplay quickly moved on from the building setpiece, and showed Jason robbing a car. You don't have to break a window to jack a car anymore, as there's an option to use a "slim jim" to more sneakily do it. Jason And Lucia Are Kind Of Adorable The demo moved on to a slice of life scene showing Lucia bringing Jason some clothes home. We then see Jason taking a beer from the fridge and watching some TV, which works similarly to GTA 5. After Lucia has changed, the two head out for a drive.
