Watching Season 1 of The Gentlemen was very much that. Created by Guy Ritchie and based on his film of the same name, the first season follows Eddie Horniman (Theo James), an aristocratic soldier and reluctant new Duke of Halstead who unexpectedly inherits his late father's massive country estate, only to discover it hides a massive cannabis empire belonging to a ruthless criminal underworld. Featuring Ritchie’s signature fast-paced editing, witty dark humor, sharp suits, eccentric British gangsters, and violent entanglements, the sensational series has paved a path for more as a new adventure is underway for Season 2. A year has passed since Eddie became the heir to his aristocratic family’s rambling estate. Now, after joining forces with Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) and her luxuriously incarcerated father, Bobby (Ray Winstone), Eddie is discovering that being a power player in the criminal underworld fits him like an immaculately tailored suit. The new season takes Eddie and Susie’s operation out from a buried cannabis farm underneath Halstead to the lakeside villas of Italy, where the power duo is establishing a foothold. “I think Eddie is extremely aspirational,” executive producer and co-writer Matthew Read told Tudum. “He wants more.” With the action set in Italy, Eddie will now be in the orbit of Marco Moretti (Sergio Castellitto), a powerful Italian crime boss who is extremely ruthless and elegant, and the mercurial fixer Cico Maldini (Michele Morrone), a man not to be trusted. James has noted that this season will go deeper and darker while maintaining the show’s signature style. Returning for more high-octane action include Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear, Pearce Quigley, and Giancarlo Esposito. They’ll be joined by Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Amra Mallassi, Tyler Conti, Chris Eubank Jr., and Maya Jama. The Gentlemen returns on September 3rd, when all episodes will be available to watch. 2 'Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Again?' September 9 Image via Netflix Not all media franchises need to revolve around men in tights with big booms and pows. Sometimes, the best franchises come directly from the brilliant mind of Tyler Perry! Nearly two decades after the original, Netflix is bringing Perry fans Why Did I Get Married Again? The latest iteration of the story follows the franchise's core group of couples as they reunite in Lake Como, Italy, for the destination wedding of Marcus and Angela's (Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith) daughter. Seeing their children grown up and acting just like them forces the older generation to reflect on their own lives, face old and new drama, and ask themselves that familiar question: why did they get married... again? Written, directed, and starring Perry, the film highlights how the original couples have aged, changed, and learned to navigate the realities of long-term marriage after weathering past storms. Why Did I Get Married Again? is not only going to bring audiences straight to a stunning destination — it will be the destination for a wonderfully nostalgic reunion. In addition to Perry, White, and Smith, returning favorites include Jill Scott, Sharon Leal, Richard T. Jones, and Lamman Rucker, all reprising their roles. Perhaps the biggest hype is the addition of Academy Award-nominee Taraji P. Henson, playing the mother of the groom, Roselyn. Speaking to People, Henson teased that her character, a fierce and powerful businesswoman, has been friends with the group who “may be traveling with some extra baggage of her own!” Perry, with great enthusiasm, noted, “I am most excited for audiences to see how these characters have matured and how their love for each other took them through some really hard times.” He added It’s a wonderful reminder of how people grow, change, mature, and settle into what marriage is and not what we think it is when we’re young. The new film drops on September 9th. 3 'Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story' September 17 Image via Netflix We are all familiar with the macabre jump-rope rhyme about how Lizzie Borden took an ax and gave her mother 40 whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41. Well, that story is being brought to life once again, this time through the twisted mind of showrunner Ian Brennan as the fourth installment of the historical crime anthology series, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story. The new eight-part horror thriller follows Lizzie Borden (Ella Beatty), the repressed daughter of a wealthy New England family, and their rebellious maid, Bridget Sullivan (Vicky Kreiss), as they escape a home built on cruelty into a fantasy of power and revenge. It’s set to dramatize the infamous, gruesome 1892 axe murders of Lizzie's father, Andrew (Charlie Hunnam), and stepmother, Abby (Rebecca Hall), in Fall River, Massachusetts, and the historic trial where she was famously acquitted. Beyond the mythic icon, the season is set to explore themes of female rage and legacy, showing how Borden defied the expectations of her era to forge a shocking, legendary status. After three distinct seasons, this one will mark the first centered around a female figure. And based on at least the first two seasons, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story has the agility to become another global sensation. This season moves past standard true-crime retellings to examine how Lizzie transformed from an accused local woman into an enduring American pop-culture icon. Rounding out the cast will be Jessica Barden as actress Nance O’Neill; Joey Pollari as John Morse, Lizzie’s maternal uncle; Billie Lourde as Emma Borden, Lizzie’s sister; and yes, Sarah Paulson as Aileen Wuornos. Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story will premiere on September 17th, with all episodes dropping that day. The series arrives just in time for spooky season, so get your Lizzie costumes ready! 4 'Best of the Best' September 18 Image via Netflix Netflix is bringing Bollywood to streaming with the brand-new film, Best of the Best. The highly anticipated coming-of-age film follows two childhood best friends, Maya (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Anjali (Priyanka Kedia), who join UCLA's competitive collegiate Bollywood-fusion dance team, only to discover that the road to winning is far more raucous and cutthroat than they ever imagined. They battle through intense practices and high-stakes rivalries while never losing sight of their big dreams of winning. Directed by Lena Khan and written by Prashanth Venkataramanujam and Hasan Minhaj, who also co-stars, the film celebrates the vibrant, high-energy style and intensity of collegiate dance culture through a focus on the bonds of sisterhood, growing pains, and the journey of young adulthood. Best of the Best marks a Netflix comeback for Ramakrishnan, who returns to the streamer following the massive success of Never Have I Ever. The film taps into the high-energy, vibrant world of South Asian collegiate dance circuits, balancing heartfelt themes of sisterhood and self-acceptance with sharp, comedic chaos. Speaking to Tudum, Khan shared, “The thing that enchanted me most about the script was that it was seven different movies in one. There’s a dance movie, there’s a friendship movie, [and] there is spectacle and ambition. The biggest thing is that it goes very deep, but also goes very big. So you get a movie that’s really exciting, but also heartfelt. I think sometimes you want to be able to sit down and have a good time that also [feels] really rich, and it gave you that.” Joining Ramakrishnan, Kedia, and Minhaj are Chaneil Kular, Ankur Rathee, Shreya Navile, Nico Greetham, Lilly Singh, Sasha Bhasin, Kavi Ramachandran, and more. Best of the Best debuts on September 18th. Collider Exclusive · Taylor Sheridan Universe Quiz Which Taylor SheridanShow Do You Belong In? Yellowstone · Landman · Tulsa King · Mayor of Kingstown Four worlds. All of them brutal, complicated, and built on power, loyalty, and the price of survival. Taylor Sheridan doesn't write heroes — he writes people who do what they have to do and live with the cost. Ten questions will reveal which one of his worlds you were made for. 🤠Yellowstone 🛢️Landman 👑Tulsa King ⚖️Mayor of Kingstown FIND YOUR WORLD → 01 Where does your power come from? In Sheridan's world, everyone has leverage. The question is what kind. ALand, legacy, and a name that's been feared and respected for generations. BKnowing the deal better than anyone else in the room — and being willing to walk away first. CReputation. I've earned it the hard way, and everyone in the room knows it. DBeing the only person both sides will talk to. That makes me indispensable — and dangerous. NEXT QUESTION → 02 Who do you put first, no matter what? Loyalty in Sheridan's universe is always absolute — and always costly. AFamily — blood or chosen. The ranch, the name, the people who carry it with me. BThe company — or whoever's signing the cheques. Loyalty follows the contract. CMy crew. The men who stood with me when it counted — I don't abandon them for anything. DMy community — even when my community is a powder keg and I'm the only thing stopping it from blowing. NEXT QUESTION → 03 Someone crosses a line. How do you respond? Every Sheridan protagonist has a line. What matters is what happens after it's crossed. AQuietly, decisively, and in a way that sends a message to everyone watching. BI outmanoeuvre them legally, financially, and politically before they even know I've moved. CDirectly. Old school. You cross me, you hear about it to your face — and then you deal with the consequences. DI absorb it, calculate the fallout, and find the move that keeps the whole system from collapsing. NEXT QUESTION → 04 Where do you feel most in your element? Sheridan's worlds are as much about place as they are about people. AWide open land — mountains, sky, silence. Somewhere you can see trouble coming from a mile away. BThe oil fields of West Texas — brutal, lucrative, and indifferent to whoever happens to be standing on top of them. CA mid-size city where the rules haven't quite caught up yet — fertile ground for someone with vision and nerve. DA rust-belt town built around a prison — where everyone's life is shaped by what's inside those walls. NEXT QUESTION → 05 How do you feel about operating in the grey? Nobody in a Sheridan show has clean hands. The question is how they carry the dirt. AI do what has to be done to protect what's mine. I'll answer for it eventually — but not today. BGrey is just business. The line moves depending on what's at stake, and I move with it. CI have a code — it's not the law's code, but it's mine, and I don't break it. DI've made peace with it. Keeping the peace requires compromises most people don't have the stomach for. NEXT QUESTION → 06 What are you actually fighting to hold onto? Every Sheridan character is fighting a war. The real question is what they're defending. AA way of life that the modern world is doing everything it can to erase. BMy position — and the leverage that comes with being the person everyone needs to close a deal. CRelevance. I've been away, I've been written off — and I'm proving that was a mistake. DWhatever fragile order I've managed to build — because without it, everything burns. NEXT QUESTION → 07 How do you lead? Authority in Sheridan's world is never given — it's established, maintained, and constantly tested. ABy example and force of will. People follow me because they believe in what I'm protecting — and because they know what happens if they don't. BThrough negotiation and leverage. I don't need people to like me — I need them to need me. CBy being the smartest, most experienced person in the room and making sure everyone quietly knows it. DBy being the calm centre of a situation that would spiral without me — and accepting that nobody thanks you for it. NEXT QUESTION → 08 Someone new arrives and tries to change how things work. Your reaction? Every Sheridan show has an outsider disrupting an established order. Sometimes that outsider is you. AThey'll learn. Or they won't. Either way, the land was here before them and it'll be here after. BI figure out what they want, what they're worth, and whether they're an asset or a problem — fast. CI was the outsider once. I give them a chance — one — to show they understand respect. DNew players destabilise everything I've built. I assess the threat and manage it before it manages me. NEXT QUESTION → 09 What has your position cost you? Nobody gets to where these characters are without paying for it. The bill is always personal. AMy family's peace — maybe their innocence. The ranch demands everything, and I've let it take too much. BRelationships, time, any version of a normal life. The job eats everything that isn't nailed down. CYears. Decades in some cases. Time I can't get back — but I'm not done yet. DMy conscience, mostly. And the ability to ever fully trust anyone on either side of the wall. NEXT QUESTION → 10 When it's over, what do you want people to say? Sheridan's characters all know the ending is coming. The question is what they leave behind. AThat I held the line. That the land is still ours and everything I did was worth it. BThat I was the best at what I did and that no deal ever got closed without me at the table. CThat I built something real, somewhere nobody expected it, and I did it on my own terms. DThat I kept the peace when nobody else could — and that the town is still standing because of it. REVEAL MY SHOW → Sheridan Has Spoken You Belong In…The show that claimed the most of your answers is the world you were built for. If two tied, both are shown — you're complicated enough to straddle two Sheridan universes. 🤠 Yellowstone 🛢️ Landman 👑 Tulsa King ⚖️ Mayor of Kingstown You are a Dutton — or you might as well be. You understand that some things are worth protecting at any cost, and that the modern world's indifference to history, to land, to legacy, is not something you're willing to accept quietly. You lead from the front, you carry your family's weight without complaint, and when someone threatens what's yours, you don't escalate — you finish it. You're not cruel. But you are absolute. In Yellowstone's world, that combination of ferocity and loyalty doesn't make you a villain. It makes you the only thing standing between everything that matters and everyone who wants to take it. You thrive in the chaos of high-stakes negotiation, where the money is enormous, the margins are thin, and the wrong word in the wrong room can cost everyone everything. You're a fixer — the person called when a situation is already on fire and needs someone with the nerve to walk into it. West Texas oil country rewards exactly what you are: sharp, adaptable, unsentimental, and absolutely clear-eyed about what people want and what they'll do to get it. You're not naive enough to think this world is fair. You're smart enough to be the one deciding who it's fair to. You are a Dwight Manfredi — someone who has served their time, paid their dues, and arrived somewhere unexpected with nothing but their reputation and their wits. You adapt without losing yourself. You build loyalty through respect rather than fear, though you're not above reminding people that the two aren't mutually exclusive. Tulsa King is for people who are still standing when everyone assumed they'd be finished — who find, in an unfamiliar place, that they're more capable than the world gave them credit for. You don't need a throne. You build one, wherever you happen to land. You carry the weight of a system that is broken by design, and you do it anyway — because someone has to, and because you're the only one positioned to do it without the whole thing collapsing. Mike McLusky's world is for people who are comfortable operating where there are no good options, only less catastrophic ones. You speak every language: law enforcement, criminal, political, human. That fluency makes you invaluable and it makes you a target. You've made your peace with both. Mayor of Kingstown belongs to people who understand that keeping the peace is not the same as being at peace — and who do the job regardless. ↻ RETAKE THE QUIZ 5 'A Different World' September 24 Image via Netflix Reboots and sequel series tend to work because of their instant nostalgia. The latest in the line of legacy programming comes with the revival of A Different World. Heading back to the fictional HBCU Hillman College, the new series follows Deborah Wayne (Maleah Joi Moon), the free-spirited, rebellious youngest daughter of original legacy characters Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison) and Whitley Gilbert (Jasmine Guy), as she starts her freshman year at Hillman College and tries to build her own legacy outside her parents' shadow. Deborah builds a new group of friends, including Rashida Duvall (Alijah Kai); a first-generation criminal justice major, Shaquille Johnson (Cornell Young IV), a superstar quarterback athlete; Amir Rodale (Jordan Aaron Hall), a sharp psychology major who avoids his own problems; Hazel Henry (Kennedi Reece), a church-raised small-town student; and Kojo Achebe (Chibuikem Uche), a Ghanaian-Nigerian fashion entrepreneur. A mix of old and new through a modern lens, original director and legend Debbie Allen returns to direct and executive produce, working alongside showrunner Felicia Pride to keep the campus's authentic voice intact. “It is such an honor to be a part of bringing back this iconic show, one that I grew up on and which had a profound impact on my life,” Pride told Tudum. “I am so proud of the work we’re doing to reimagine A Different World for beloved fans and new generations alike.” Allen, for her part, said, “There couldn’t be a better time than now to reboot A Different World." She noted, “Our show changed lives, tripled the enrollment of historically black colleges, and gave a strong voice and platform for Young Black America. The incredible fresh young talent we have discovered paired with the lovable audience favorite OGs makes this much-anticipated return a must-see on Netflix.” Joining Hardison and Guy, original stars Cree Summer and Darryl M. Bell reprise their beloved roles of Freddie and Ron, respectively. Other familiar faces include Ajai Sanders, Karen Malina White, Charnele Brown, Jenifer Lewis, Dawnn Lewis, and Jada Pinkett Smith. A Different World debuts on September 24th, 39 years to the day of the original series' premiere. 6 'LEGO ONE PIECE' September 28 Image via Netflix Nowadays, literally anything can be given the LEGO set treatment, but you’ve got to be something special to get the LEGO film treatment. The latest to receive both is One Piece. If you’ve built the scenes, get ready to see them come to life during the special LEGO ONE PIECE. The animated special is a brick-built, comedic retelling of the Straw Hat crew's adventures across the early seasons, framed with Usopp acting as an unreliable narrator recounting past tales to Chopper. It’s a humorous reimagining of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew's journey through the East Blue and early Grand Line. Produced by Atomic Cartoons in collaboration with The LEGO Group, Shueisha, and Tomorrow Studios, with manga creator Eiichiro Oda and showrunner Tom Hyndman participating as executive producers, the original live-action cast members reprising their roles vocally, including Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. LEGO ONE PIECE is fulfilling the 25-year dream of Oda while operating as an exciting animated bridge between seasons. Hyndman was drawn to the idea of Usopp, a boisterous storyteller, narrating the tale and providing a brand-new point of view for viewers. “We wanted to make something that would ease new viewers into the massive world of One Piece while also giving longtime fans a new, fun perspective to see the iconic stories of the first two seasons,” Hyndman revealed to Tudum. His excitement grew thanks to having the whole crew on board vocally. “It allowed us to really go wild during the recording because we didn’t have to take extra time to have them find the character — they are the character. This freedom led to some extremely fun and funny improvised moments that really added to the episodes.” Get ready to build — the two-part, multi-brick special arrives September 29th. 7 'Below' October 8 Image via Netflix Netflix has a history of delivering some of the best modern thrillers, and their next one is destined to join the list. Created by Jesse McKeown, Below is bringing a mystery to Canada. The six-episode suspense thriller follows Calvin Penney (Josh Hartnett), a stubborn, big-hearted local fisherman in a remote Newfoundland town still haunted by his own father's mysterious death and terrorized by a mysterious sea creature. He teams up with Fonda Howander (Mackenzie Davis), a visiting marine researcher, to protect his family and uncover buried local secrets. Positioned as an ideal suspenseful binge-watch leading into the Halloween season, Below is the spooky maritime thriller you never knew you needed. Below is highly anticipated thanks to Harnett in the lead. “I read the first two scripts so quickly, in less than an hour,” Hartnett revealed to Tudum. “The voice was so clear, the concept was so engaging, and the character was fantastic. I’d never read anything like it before.” Shot on location in Newfoundland, the series was born out of McKeown’s love for the province. “It’s such a unique landscape and so rugged, dangerous, isolated, and scary in a lot of ways,” he shared. “But then there’s also this other side to it — the community is so warm, and the people are so funny, and there are many eccentricities about the place.” Both Harnett and McKeown immersed themselves in the culture to capture the true essence of the locale and allow it to shine through the screen. The team forwent green screen and filmed scenes on Newfoundland’s ocean to capture the real-life locale. Joining Harnett and Davis are Charlie Heaton, Natasha Henstridge, Joshua Close, Rohan Campbell, Willow Kean, Ruby Stokes, Kaleb Horn, and Mary Walsh. The maritime fright drops on October 8th. 8 'Lupin' Season 4 October 23 Image via Netflix Netflix has a history of extraordinary foreign language series. Near the top of that list is Lupin. The French mystery thriller created by George Kay and François Uzan is inspired by classic literary adventures of Arsène Lupin, a master of disguise and gentleman thief. Assane Diop (Omar Sy) sets out to avenge his father, who was wrongfully accused of stealing a priceless diamond necklace and died by suicide in prison 25 years earlier. Assane uses books about Arsène Lupin as his guidebook and inspiration to pull off clever, high-stakes heists and outwit the police. The series explores systemic inequalities and racism in France, using Assane's status as an invisible working-class immigrant to his advantage, as he relies on people failing to truly look at him. Fans have faced a long three-year hiatus since Part 3 ended in October 2023. Picking up after the Part 3 cliffhanger where the gentleman thief turned himself in to the police, the eight-episode season follows Assane dealing with the consequences of his incarceration while navigating new high-stakes schemes and threats. The shift moves the master thief from running free across Paris into a constrained environment, though his sharp intellect and knack for subterfuge remain his primary tools. “I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything. I find great joy in it every time,” Sy revealed to Tudum. He returns as Assane, alongside Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine, and Laïka Blanc-Francard. Lupin has established itself as one of the most popular non-English productions in Netflix’s history. With its first three parts occupying the third, sixth, and tenth places respectively in the historical rankings, the French series gathers a large and engaged audience on an international scale. Part 4 will resume on October 23rd. 9 'Steps' November 20 Image via Netflix A new Cinderella story has entered the chat. Loosely based on an idea by the Garfunkel and Oates duo Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci, Steps reimagines the classic tale by putting her "evil" stepsisters in the spotlight. Tired of living in Cinderella's (Amanda Seyfried) shadow, stepsister Lilith (Ali Wong) accidentally turns her sister Margot (Stephanie Hsu) into a frog after stealing the Fairy Godmother's (Bette Midler) magic wand to hijack the Royal Ball. Meanwhile, a scheming, power-hungry villain named Priscilla (Nikki Glaser) seizes the throne and takes over the kingdom. Lilith must team up with Cinderella to form an unlikely alliance, journeying through biker trolls and the Screaming Woods to rescue the kingdom, fix their family dynamics, and ultimately save the day. Directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, the fresh, revisionist fractured fairy tale perspective explores deeper themes of sisterhood, identity, and the idea that the traditional villains deserve a happily-ever-after. Enchanted fairy tale fans are in for a treat with this star-studded animated joyride. Steps delivers the beats you know from the classic story, but twists them for a new generation. The lineup of famous voices will also feature Daniel Radcliffe as the story’s unconventional Prince, Young Mazino as Gef, an unexpected heartthrob, and Peter Dinklage as Roderick, a murderous man-nanny. As Ripa told Tudum, "Our goal was to break the fairy-tale mold by making every single character three-dimensional and worthy of a happily ever after." Ripa added, "When I was introduced to Steps, I saw that it contained incredible artistry, beautiful storytelling, and most of all, that it had something important to say to the world." The vibrant new film will come to Netflix on November 20th. 10 'Stranger Things: Tales from '85' Season 2 TBD Image via Netflix It's been almost a year since the final season of Stranger Things arrived. The global pop culture phenomenon not only established Netflix as a major player in the world of entertainment, but it also shaped how we consume television. While we can't go back to the Upside Down for more live-action stories as they were, we do have an animated spin-off that is equally enthralling: Stranger Things: Tales from '85. Taking place between the events of the second and third seasons, the series follows Eleven (Brooklyn Davey Norstedt), Mike (Luca Diaz), Dustin (Braxton Quinney), Lucas (Elisha "EJ" Williams), Will (Ben Plessala), and Max (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport) as they form a local club known as the Hawkins Investigators Club (H.I.C.) to fight new Upside Down creatures like snow sharks and zombie pumpkins as residual spores from the Upside Down release these mutating underground monsters. Set in Hawkins, Indiana, after the lab was supposedly sealed, but before the events of the Starcourt Mall in Season 3, the series introduces a transfer student and science tinkerer named Nikki Baxter (Odessa A'zion), whose mother, Anna (Janeane Garofalo), becomes the kids' substitute science teacher. Designed with vibrant animation to mimic a classic 1980s cartoon adventure, Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85 extends the iconic series through a much different lens. The hit series features creature-of-the-week mysteries with less gore than the live-action flagship series as it adds to the mythology and lore. The series is more sanitized than the original show, but its heart is pure. The first season of Stranger Things: Tales from '85 debuted this past April, but it was revealed that a second season was in store within the same calendar year! In the new world of television, that's almost an impossible feat. Nevertheless, this spooky season may get strange once again. Showrunner Eric Robles confirmed the seasons are tightly linked rather than isolated stories. It continues the interconnected story of the Hawkins kids with a brand-new paranormal threat emerging from local silver mines and a mysterious blue flower from the Upside Down. Though there is no official release date as of now, perhaps it will arrive before, or even on, Stranger Things Day: November 6th. Keep a lookout for an official announcement.
