Published Oct 2, 2026, 3:08 AM EDT Josh Coulson is an editor at TheGamer covering breaking news on everything from colorful platformers to the latest Lego sets. Primarily a news writer since 2018, Josh has covered just about every major game from the past decade. Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company. Pokemon is one of the biggest brands in the world. The collaborations it has manifested during its 30th anniversary year alone demonstrate that. Everyone wants to work with The Pokemon Company, even the European Space Agency, which now has its own Pikachu plushes along with a whole line of other merch. European Space Agency Collection Lands At The Pokemon Center The Pokemon Company The crossover has come about in celebration of World Space Week, which begins on October 4. The curated collection includes two new Pikachu plush designs, which were revealed by showing off that one of them was sent into space last year and spent 67 days orbiting the Earth in the International Space Station. The Pikachu plushes, along with everything else in Pokemon’s ESA collection, will be available to buy at ESA sites and various museums throughout Europe. However, for those who don’t live in Europe, or who might not be able to make it to one of those locations while the exhibition is around, products from the collection are now available to buy at the Pokemon Center. The Pokemon Company The headliners of the collection are the Pikachu plushes. There are two of them, one male and one female, both of which put Pokemon’s mascot in an astronaut costume, presumably for the first time. I’ve seen Pikachu dressed as a lot of things for its countless plush designs, but I can’t recall ever seeing the Electric-type dressed for a trip to space. The female plush is wearing a blue astronaut suit, while the male version is wearing a white one. The only other difference between them is the indicator that tells you if a Pikachu is male or female. The male Pikachu’s tail ends in a point, while a female Pikachu’s tail is heart-shaped at the end. TCG Accessories, Enamel Pins, And More The Pokemon Company The male Pikachu astronaut is also featured on pretty much all of the other merch in the ESA collection. The Electric-type has his own enamel pin, he’s striking the same pose on a Pokemon TCG double deck box, and there are even some matching TCG sleeves, a playmat, and a binder for collectors who want to give their deck a space-themed makeover. On the clothing front, there are two T-shirts to choose from - one light blue and one dark blue - a hoodie, and the most expensive item in the collection, a $129.99 bomber jacket. That’s until the Astronaut Pikachu figure is released. Pictured but not available yet, the figure is designed to make it look like the Pokemon is floating above the moon’s surface. I’m assuming that’ll cost more than $130 whenever it’s available. Rounding out the collection is a set of four patches you can attach to whatever clothing you like to make them Pokemon x ESA-themed. A definitive list of everything in the collection can be found below, along with how much it costs, and it’s all available now at the Pokemon Center.
