Emmerdale star warns Nicola ‘is going to kill’ Sadie as the truth explodes

It’s been a busy old month in Emmerdale. It broke poor Nico’s heart – and the hearts of a soap-watching nation – when her loveably oafish hubby Jimmy King (Nick Miles) met his ultimately demise in a tragic car accident on the day of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) wedding. Poor Jimmy swerved his car to avoid hitting Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), who was on his phone while driving. This resulted in Jimmy losing control of the car and crashing into the wedding marquis, sustaining serious injuries. He passed away as a devastated Nicola held his hand. Unfortunately for Nicola, she happens to live in the most dramatic village in Yorkshire. Lo and behold. Jimmy’s scheming ex-wife, Emmerdale uber-bitch Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) made a jaw-dropping comeback by helicopter just in time for the funeral. Why? According to Sadie, Jimmy was her true love… because she’d been having an affair with him for three years. How could Jimmy betray Nicola like this? The village was staggered to see Sadie again… (Picture: ITV) … especially Nicola (Picture: ITV) Easy answer – he didn’t. This is, of course, a textbook Sadie scheme, designed to get Nicola on side so Sadie can locate a big fat pile of cash that Jimmy hid before he died. Sadie’s painted a pretty convincing picture of Jimmy’s infidelity, and according to actress Nicola Wheeler – who plays Nicola – it’s working like a charm. She’s really wormed her way into Nicola’s life. They haven’t told the children about who Sadie is but there is an episode where Carl asks about her so there is a little bit of gossip at school. The children are aware that Sadie is their dad’s ex-wife and that she’s just sad Jimmy has gone’ Sadie’s after Jimmy’s treasure. Will Nicola rumble her game? (Picture: ITV) Of course, because this is soap land, the truth about Jimmy’s fidelity is literally a button away. All she has to do is listen to a full, complete voicemail where Jimmy proclaims his love for his wife. Unfortunately, as previously mentioned, this is soap land, so she frustratingly only listens to the incriminating bit, as Nicola Wheeler explains. ‘She doesn’t listen to the full voicemail. She can’t bring herself to listen to the rest of it. The audience hears ‘I love Nicola. I don’t like lying to her’ but she doesn’t any of that. As far as she is concerned, Jimmy and Sadie were a thing.’ Between the voicemail, the mysterious necklace Nicola found hidden among his belongings, and a lie or two, it does not look good. ‘Sadie rubs it in a little bit about the necklace because she overhears that Jimmy used to call her his one and only and she uses it against Nicola.She says: ‘he used to call me his one and only’. She’s very clever. She takes little tiny details that make Nicola hate him even more’ ‘As far as she is concerned, Jimmy and Sadie were a thing.'(Picture: ITV) Sadie might have a cunning plan. But she better be quick about executing it. The funeral’s coming up, and she’s not the only one keen to get her well-manicured hands on Jimmy’s nestegg. As Nicola Wheeler explains, our Nico has financial woes of her own, and she’s relying on that 15 grand to sort it. ‘There is this £150,000 that is nowhere to be found. It’s like dangling a golden carrot – the answer to all her problems’ Nicola insists. ‘But she can’t find it. She turns her house upside down, she looks everywhere but it’s just not there – until this key arrives.’ ‘It’s Manpreet who says it’s s key from the golf club – it’s a locker key. And that’s quite a funny scene where someone says: ‘only an idiot would put £150,000 in a locker at a golf club’, and Nicola says: ‘well Jimmy was an idiot’ – they think: ‘aha! This must be where he’s hidden the money’.’ ‘At this point, Nicola doesn’t know if he’s hidden the money from her and if he was going to go off with Sadie and she’d be left with this debt because the house has been re-mortgaged. She’s desperate to try and find the money’ Sadie’s managed to pull the wood over Nicola’s eyes… for now (Picture: ITV) Sadie’s not working alone. Her partner in crime is none other than her former fling, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), who’s been promised a cut. But he might be the one to give Sadie away! Nicol Wheeler recalls filming a funny scene where the villainous pair were almost caught red-handed ‘They were! The way we shot it we had to time it perfectly – they go out of shot as we enter shot. Sadie is part of the conversation about Jimmy being an idiot so she runs to Robert (Patrick Mower) and says they need to check it out before they do.’ ‘They do get to the golf club first but Nicola and Rodney scare them away – now the question is: do Nicola and Rodney get into the locker at that point or do Sadie and Robert get an opportunity where they can get into it again before Nicola and Rodney? And if they are caught out, what will Nicola do? Our Nico isn’t known for keeping cool at the best of times. Once she finds out that Sadie told such a heinous lie about her poor Jimmy just to cheat him out of cash from beyond the grave, all bets are off. In the history of Emmerdale, Nicola has done some terrible things – but she’s never killed anyone. However, in Sadie’s case, she might make an exception. There were many ways she could have got that money, she didn’t need to take the lie as far as she did.
