So much so, Musk says that next year, we may see AI become superhuman when it comes to digital tasks.Elon Musk has warned that AI may become superhuman soon.AI models today can do much more than what they were capable of just a couple of years ago. And this rapid rate of progression may not slow down anytime soon. Tech trillionaire Elon Musk claims that AI is now improving at a rate that may turn it superhuman as early as next year.On X, Elon Musk claimed that AI will be able to do “anything digital at a superhuman level” by the end of next year. His comment was in response to a reply by Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch over the capabilities of AI models in the future.AI models today are already getting better at doing a bunch of things digitally. Be it writing code, going through your local files or making presentations. Superhuman capabilities will likely make AI even better at things it can already do, and perhaps do more things in the future. Elon Musk says AI is about to go superhuman. Though Musk did clarify that this superhuman level of AI will likely be limited to the digital world, and not include tasks that “require shaping atoms.” So you likely don't have to worry about a Matrix-like future just yet. To give you some context, the comments followed posts by Guillermo Rauch, who linked the newly disclosed CVE flaw in Artifactory to recent claims from OpenAI and Hugging Face about AI agents discovering zero-day vulnerabilities.Elon Musk recalls Larry Page’s AI predictionWhile there is no confirmation that the Artificatory vulnerability was found by AI agents, Rauch argued that the timing could mark the first real-world sign that an AI system did not just identify a bug but may also have exploited it. He added, “It’s a CVSS 9.8, a disastrous vulnerability score. It’s like a 9.8 earthquake on the seismic scale.” The Vercel CEO claimed that in the new era of the internet, AI agents may be able to find exploits and hack systems on their own. “Assume everything hackable will get hacked. And it will get hacked autonomously,” he explained.Elon Musk replied to this original post, recalling a conversation with Google co-founder Larry Page, who may have predicted such a possibility years ago. Musk replied, “Larry Page, to his credit, repeatedly told me that AI will be superhuman at hacking about 10 years ago.” Elon Musk says Google co-founder Larry Page predicted AI could be this good at hacking. In case you are unaware, last month, OpenAI disclosed that its AI models had gone rogue and hacked systems of the US company Hugging Face during an evaluation test.Last week, OpenAI released a detailed security report of the incident. As per the company, around 1,200 AI agents used an internal Artifactory service as a message board to communicate with each other, sharing more than 70,000 messages and files.
